Regardless, I really want to see it as well. I like the noir genre and the trailer was damn impressive. Yahoo! has some exclusive clips too.
I went to the midnight showing and thought it was great. Very violent, very bloody. I've been playing God of War lately, so I guess it's just been one killing spree after another lately o_x;; Anyway it really does capture the comic-book feel very well, especially with how they edited the visuals.
Elijah Wood was just weird, as was the orange guy. I think I'm in love with Jessica Alba, though. :S
I thought it was great, and I went with a handful of other girls who liked it a lot too.
ya when i first saw the trailer i tought it was Max Payne the movie. i was like whoa thats neat.
Hmm.
After I listen to some Rammstein.
As if we would let them leave the kitchen to see a movie...hah you kidder.
ners Repent.
Cant wait.
On a side note, was I not the only one who when first saw the trailer and saw the dark gritty black and white comic theme and some guy with a handgun in each hand think of Max Payne lol.
I give it:

5/5 (since there is an emoticon limit...grr)
Oh, and a side note...if anyone went to Friday's 10:45pm showing at the Woodlands theatre, that was me that shouted "Don't forget your towel!" at the end of the "Guide" trailer.
Poster of Sin City with Jessica Alba.
Technically, Max Payne is loosely based on Sin City (SC came along before MP, and was very popular in the comics underground). It rips (unabashedly) from The Hard Goodbye, A Dame to Kill For, and That Yellow Bastard.
But since both are Hardcore Noir , it's really hard for either to be all too original and not have a few things overlap.

Girls who like girls don't count. Shh.
I will make a sig/avatar of it somehow. For now, sleep...
To me this is just like calling tissues Kleenex, we just say what pops into our mind based on past experience, and being gamers, we are more likely to know Max Payne than noir in general.
My wife was bugging me about seeing it before I even fully knew what it was. And she loved it.
Yeah, I thought it was mildly awesome. Minus the mildly. Incredible style and flair through the whole thing, and one of the few times such a powerhouse cast of big-names has been worth it. I even thought Josh Hartnett's small role was completely bad-****. And I usually don't like him.
