Lag?

<div class="IPBDescription">unusual lag</div> I have never lagged before in about a year. And now for some weird reason I have a ping of about 500-1200. I play CS and i don't lag at all. Anyone know whats wrong?

    rate 9999
    cl_updaterate 40

    Hasn't cl_rate been locked at 9999 for the longest?

    Hes most likely just got mixed up.

    rate 20000 (For a BB connection, if your on anything else its gonna cause problems)

    cl_rate 9999 (Pretty sure its been locked at that for a while)

    cl_updaterate 40 (Depends on your connection again)

    Steams basic settings are mostly rough guides but work quite well, id recommend just using them.

    Have you also done checks for Adware, Spyware and Viruses.
