I'm so, so sorry I watched that.

    It wouldn't have been so bad if the voices hadn't been so annoying <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

As odd as it sounds, there were... too many m&m's references. :/

It may not taste as good but it's healthier for you.

Imagine replacing all of the NS models with different sized M&M's. Or just replace the Gorge with one <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Aren't M&Ms just Smarties but not as nice? It's been a long time since I've had any M&Ms... (maybe because they're just Smarties...but not as nice!!)

Hooray for advertisment and marketing, employing people to do pointless things since the beginning of time.

There are a variety of different M&Ms, but in essence they are made up of the same foodstuffs as Smarties. Both contain that delicious milk chocolate, both have a crunchy and colourful outer shell.

Here the similarites end. The outer shell of your typical Smartie is far sweeter than any M&M could ever hope to be. On the M&M's outer shell we can also see the often faint "M" symbol, whereas a Smartie will be merely solid colouring, surrounding the somewhat flatter shape. On the plus side, the difference in shape means that an M&M is actually bulkier than a Smartie, thus containing more chocolate.

M&Ms are also available with a delicious peanut in the centre, but countering this is the far superior Giant Smartie - unfortunately a limited addition offer I am led to believe. These Giant Smarties were twice the size of your average Smartie, at least, containing more succulent chocolate and a larger area of sickly sweet colourful coating.

Clearly the Smartie wins hands down on the taste scale, but an M&M is far more durable - and the new addition of Dark Chocolate, while not to my taste, may increase sales dramatically.

<a href='http://images.familyhealth.com.au/branding/dc/library/smarties.jpg' target='_blank'>Smarties</a> only exist in Europe. In The US <a href='http://www.vallefudgeworks.com/shopping%20cart%201/Smarties.jpg' target='_blank'>Smarties</a> are a very different kind of candy so its hard to make the comparison. Plus I always thought the chocolate Smarties don't taste as great as m&m's.

Anyway, I didn't like this commercial very much. I agree that it had annoying voices and just too many m&m references. They should have stuck with just a few characters.

correct me if I'm wrong, but smarties are chalky candies without much taste and a powdery coating left over from the production process right?

M&Ms have various forms, but originally were chocolate with a thin hard candy coating. I liked the ones with the crispy center, not sure if those are still made.

    I prefer M&Ms to smarties.

I also remember that in France there were dark chocolate m&m's for a certain period of time. I had some only once but I liked them a lot. They were slightly larger and a tiny bit more oval in shape if I remember correctly. They also were only red, orange, yellow and brown. And a bit darker in color. They reminded me a lot of candies that I had in Sweden but I can't remember their name.

Wrong, they exist in Canada, too.

The US "Smarties" had to be renamed to "Rockets" here. (Canada) Because the chocolate Smarties already had the name. I don't think that the US even <i>has</i> Smarties.

To grace those chalky tablets of junk with the name of "Smarties" is an abomination.

They could have at least used the real M&Ms yellow candy's voice at the end.

either that or my speakers are really messed.

We have both smarties and m&m's here. TBH they both taste the same really. I'm not enthusiastic about either.
