Maybe the dev team is saying the skulk is the coolest/deadliest.....or maybe that's the Xeno button O_O

Most likely, it only represents a face because the texture was split in half then horizontally mirrored, things can do that a lot, take the letter K for instance, I guess.

wait, nvm. I begin to make 0 sense after 2 am or whatever it is here. and with stupid daylight savings time thingy it's gonna feel like i went to bed at 3 am. ignore this post, I'm tired.
One time, there was this guy on top of the armory guarding base, and I swear to god, every time I went for ammo, he'd look toward me while crouching and because of the way marines squat in NS, his huge armored marine genitals were taking up half my screen. Sometimes I swear he'd crouch-walk around just to jostle his junk in my face. When I told him what it looked like I was seeing, everyone had a good laugh.
... I don't know why I was looking in particular.

If you want to know the truth, textures in HL are often mirrored in a way that greatly reduces their data size. This is partially because this means that you download less, and partially because if fed a texture map too large, the HL engine will vomit all over itself and explode. Most HL texture maps for models will fit in a 256x256 or 512x512 square quite easly. Thusly, the skulk's body is a mirror texture of itself, and the two places that you can see the seam are:
1. It's head. Actually, it's forehead.
2. It's arse.
The "picture" you are pointing out is an artifact of the mirroring effect, and doesn't mean a bloody thing.
