<div class="IPBDescription">I got myself a brand new motorcycle.</div> I know I haven't been adding my usual amount of witty banter to the forums for a few months, and I'm not particularly going to resume that now...
For the past few months I've been ramping up on narbacular drop so that I could get a job. On the 23rd, I got myself an entry level's dream job at <a href='http://www.sandlotgames.com' target='_blank'>Sandlot Games</a>. I make my own hours and get to telecommute, but that's beside the point.
The point I have to make, is that I just got paid for the first time from this new uberjob. And since I am phasing out of the student lifestyle and into the working lifestyle, I decided it was finally time to buy myself something brand new. Not something that was 2nd or 3rd hand but *looked like new*.
So, today, this April 2nd of 2005, I got myself a brand new....
<a href='http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/GSX750FK5/Default.aspx' target='_blank'>2005 Suzuki Katana 750 (Blue)</a>

So, yes, you'll probably see even less of me now that I'm moving at lightspeed again (My old motorcycle exploded just over 20 months ago).
Yarrrrr, I just had to share <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

A sparkplug on the right side literally shot out, hit the gas tank, and bounced off into the distance while I was on the freeway.
The shooting out part irreperably stripped the threads, and it would have been more expensive to fix it than ditch the entire bike.
this thread is useless with out pics

I'll see if I can't dig out a digital camera and take a picture of the old bastard bike just for general looks comparison tomorrow.
For reference, my old bike was a 1989 Kawasaki EX-500
Hot bike.
All you need is a hot woman and your life will be complete. ^_^
glad you got a new one.
Hope this one wont explode, too bad about your older one,
see this is a perfect example of what happens when comms dont drop welders. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
pffft, jumpers go splat. Bikers go skiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid.
The roads will be stripped of women then. Tsk.
I make pretty good stock muscle cars.
My next project is to aquire a Buell <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
This is the picture of it, but it's already being traded for a Maverick. Sucker.

i heard that it feels very 'heavy' on turns? any confirmation? people often mistake power for weight.

i liked the GsXr though.

I haven't had a chance to ride it a whole lot (new bike + no insurance yet + new tires with almost no real grip + rain covered roads + 20 months without riding = me too scared to really push it hard in turns just yet), but it hasn't felt heavy so far.
Awesomeness incarnate!
I second that notion, I have the knackered trousers, scars on my knee, scratched paintwork, and a just-recently-replaced nut on the exhaust that was ground down to a 45 degree angle.
Did I mention the knackering of my dad's gloves as well...
Ahh well, at least I have a nice souvenir of the security tape with my bike doing the sliding-firework impression <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
damn you.

?
You're old enough to type, you're old enough to ride. Maybe not on the street, but it's all good.
