Ns Poem

Thing for school
Aight... I'm supposed to make a poem for school... that ties in with the Canturbury Tales...

My plan is to make a TSA Marine ready to leave for some R&R... but I need help...

I have just discovered that I can't rhyme to save my life...

And the worst part is, I need it by friday... as well as a PAPER BAG PUPPET of the character...

Must be a 20 line poem (minimum) in which you incorporate

Where the pilgrim is going

A physical description with details connected to occupation

Moral description w/ behaviors

Authors opinion (make fun of some aspect)

Rhymed couplets and two other poetic devices (ie, alliteration, metaphor, specific meter throughout, ect)

A model of the pilgrim (which I am now working on)

I have had a very busy week, and I only hve 2 more nights to do this... which sucks because tonight i have 3 soccer games to referee that I CANNOT back out of...

So yeah... I need help

Anyone up to the challenge? Reward will be... uh... um... a free slot icon on our server? I dunno... I'll think of something!

Hmm, I forget which one that was... I did a similar project with the pardoners tale from canterbury tales, except I spent a week working on it and It was a video involving snapple bottles and greenscreen goodness.

I didn't read the whole thing though, just the pardoners tale, the rest of it was split between the class.

Might I say that, while this may seem funny now, if the teacher doesn't play NS he prolly won't get most of the jokes.

Nevertheless, this seems like fun, and I can sympathize with a refereeing scheduling conflict, so here's a couple of lines I thought up.

There once was in the glorious TSA
A 'rine, who traveled to the cap ship's bay
In hopes that he might soon be off this ship,
For he so desper'tely wanted a trip
Back to the Earth. Vacations always seem
Much better when you're running from the scene
Of massive bloodshed which was caused, you see,
By hideous creatures not like you and me.
These beasts, the Kharaa, were bacteria
That lived and fought and brought hysteria
Upon the worlds out on the Outer Rim.
This seasoned soldier had fought them, though grim
His prospects of survival were. Instead
Of running he would rather face the head
Of mankind's enemy. His armor bore
The marks of battle. Oh, his muscles sore.
But now this soldier's life of war was done.
The fight was over and the battle won.
Or so he thought, for in that blink of joy
A hidden skulk claimed his leg as a toy.

You could say I've been practicing; I had to do one of these a couple of months ago in a group of 4, and it had to go to ~100 lines.

Sure, you do 7 50 question American History tests that I have to have made up by online classes in 10 days.

    ...pr0n?

Anyway, while that poem/story might be okay, it doesn't really feature a large amount of mechanical devices mentioned (alliteration and so forth). Plus it doesn't really give you an idea of the character's morals and actions (like the Canterbury tales characters).

I suppose that poem has him
running headlong in to the fray,
    for which he dearly did pay;
the marine lost his only right leg -
which is now a mighty wooden peg.

...or something (you'd expect better prosthetic limbs in the future, no?).

Think I hadn't already thought of that?

Cept HLMV doesn't seem to like my system... maybe it's cause it's not only a Radeon (which NS seems to hate anyway) but it's a 64 BIT system, which XP and HL hate in general...
