Please Help, It's driving me crazy
I got myself a new acer laptop a few months ago because my old laptop got dropped and my insurance company sent me this thing. For some reason every few seconds (about 15-20)my laptop seems to freeze up for a second or 2. If i'm moving my mouse the movement won't register so my pointer doesn't move and if im typing the keys i press don't register. This is obviously very annoying because i have t double check everything i type, so everything below this line i'm not going to check.
So, ve you had this problem. Do you have anya why this is happening. My latp spec's can ound here
Simply saying Acer's suck wont help nmatter how true it actually is.

Actually it's to say the model is 1682 and it has had a spyware virus scan.

Well, i decided to double check the processor usage after you said that. So first i looked at speedswitch (Controls the CPU clock speed) and see what it says and it had some crazy spikes on it, riht on the image. So i open up task manager and hit the screenshot button when the cpu usage goes high. Well i take the screen shot but for some reason the cpu usage doesn't match whats been used on the task list. Any idea why? Could this be causing the problem?
Edit:
As crazy as it sounds i cut the bit off the bottom of te task manager. But when i took the shot it said 52%
OR 2.) Your comupter needs a good old format.
I'd try #2 first, backup all your stuff and have a formatting party. Hey I know it sucks but it kills damned near everything that's messing with your system.
Check under your administrative tools for the services list, and look for anything that's listed as "Starting..." perpetually. Another indication of this problem would be a spike in the CPU usage by one of your SVCHOST.EXEs.
Also, you might want to run an even more in-depth sypware search. At least one spyware strain has been known to hide itself from the task manager. Actually, the only one I know of is detailed on this guy's page:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html
It's CWS.Realyellowpage. If you don't use IE, you might not see the immediate effects. However, I figure that if it is as devious as charged, then it wouldn't make itself incredibly obvious by sucking away your processing power.
By the way, you might want to deactivate some of those other processes, for simple optimization. Good grief, I didn't know that the iPod slapped put two processes onto your system. It makes me even more glad that I don't have one.
*EDIT* By the way, you might want to investigate some of those other processes. I have pretty much 30 running in my backround; you seem to have more. The best way to investigate is by just throwing the process name into Google. The first result will probably bring you one of the process listings located a this site, which will let you know if it's anything bad.
So is Diskeeper
So is more RAM
Dude, check your total paging file usage... it looks like you're loosing a lot of your system (charge) to high profile programs
You only REALLY need like, 5 running... explorer, spybot, teatimer (part of spybot) and then the program you are using
More if you are on net via network
