<div class="IPBDescription">taken from the rappeling thread</div> seeing as a few people have posted some icky injuries in the affore mentioned thread i decided to open a new one.
so tell us about your worst injuries, whether they be painful, gross or just annoying. (post as many as you want)
I'll go first.
though i havnt been injured in an extremly painful my first injury happened when i was skateboarding (shock). I was only about 8 so it wasnt a kool grinding accident or anything like that. I was just minding my own business skating down a hill when i went of the curb and fell on my head. this hurt quite abit, but to top it off a car came round the corner and rolled right over my hand breaking 3 fingers =[.
my most recent injury was more annoying than painful. Some time during last summer an innocent little fly bit me on the leg, no big deal i hear u say. But that bite later got infected and started eating away at the top layer of my leg muscle. The fact that i was in the middle of a 4 a-side football tournament (over a period of 5 weeks) didnt help, and wot can only be described as a big green snot growth came out of my leg and kept popping icky yellow gue all over my leg. When it finally cleard up i was left with a small hole in my leg that the doctor didnt seem to care about.
so now its your turn =]

(2) Being pushed off a table at school, tumbling eye-first into the corner of a radiator. Blood everywhere, and the doctor at the hospital telling me I was about 1.5mm from losing my eye in the fall. Eep.
(3) Actually my best un-injury. Faced with a choice of walking about 2 miles for an easy way down a cliff or climbing down (it was only around 30 metres) I decided to climb. Pretty soon I ran out of handholds, and just tried grabbing some sturdy-looking grass instead. Needless to say the grass broke as soon as it needed to bear any weight, and I fell around 20m to the ground, landing on jagged rocks, on my back. All I had to show for it was a tiny graze.
Speaking of injuries though, this site is totally awesome. It's not too grisly (though some of the pictures can be icky if you're squeamish), but it's not just pictures of wounds - they all have stories of how the wounds happened too, and it's all pretty interesting: <a href='http://www.showmeyourwound.com' target='_blank'>http://www.showmeyourwound.com</a>
Oh, and while this isn't really in the same catagory, I was clinically dead for a very short while when I was born.
I had another, very painfull accident. I ran, than someone tackled me, I fell, turned around 180° and crashed with the backside of my head onto a rock. No blood, nothing. Just very painful, but I get sometimes the feeling, I get dumber and dumber all the time after this :/
:o
How did you then returm to the clinically alive state?
still have a scar
As stated in the previus thread I have a scar bisecting my right eyebrow (the long way). Came from racing around the house with my brother. I triped and slid into a sharp corner table. LOTS of blood <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> (I claim I got it from a knife fight, generaly works till I break out laughing!)
I dislocated my hip (I think) playing catch with my friend. Literaly, she weighed like 100lbs and we ussed to toss her around (never once droped her). One time my friend tossed her up to high, and I was standing sorta wrong. Catch her, twist so that I don't land on her and I hear/feel 3 very loud pops.
I couldn't walk (with out aid), I couldn't even sit down or anytihng (with out alot of pain). Fortunatly it was the start of easter vacation so I just stayed in bed for all of it, never bothered with going to the doc (hurt to much to get in the car).
the rest are random ones:
breaking ulna and radius in my left arm, greenstick fracture of sometihng in my ankle, sprained ankle, and somany various scars from different fun experiances <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
oh, and I got a peble embeded in my forhead (had to get a doc to remove it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
Injured my medial meniscus (right knee) while installing some carpet years ago. The discomfort came and left but I continued running 25 to 30 miles / week as it seemed minor. September 2001 I had arthroscopic knee surgery and 80% of my medial meniscus was removed. Btw, the medial meniscus is the cushioning disc between your femur and your tibia ... mine was folded over under itself from the carpet-install injury. The right knee still bothers me during cold or damp weather, but the sad part is the doc said no more running. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Electrified you mean, electrocuded means you died. :-)
Side note, I suppose my worst injury was death too.
Kinda sucks you know? :-)

You have to die to have been electrocuted? Didn't know that.
(2) Soccer
- Bruised 2 ribs when a guy took a free kick and I blocked the ball with my body
- Knocked myself out cold when I was trying to defend but I ran into a post.
- Got kicked in the face once, wound in my lip and tongue and a bloody nose, bloodiest mess ever.

No lasting or bad damage but I had half my face and one of eyes bandaged over for a week or so.
That's probably the most painful, out of 3-5-ish moderatley painful or serious injuries. I'd say when I broke two of my wrist bones at the same time was the most painful, but you don't feel any pain from it.

Maybe I AM DEAD!

(2) Knees, legs, arms and face (+parts of chest) undergoing some nasty skin-removal operation applied by some nasty (and SHARP) asphalt in a bike crash.
(3) Appendix almost exploding, infesting my whole inner chest. "You almost died" was really cool to here from the doc...
[Oh, and that whole insanity thing with split-up minds in my head....]
Also, I wouldn't call the next one "worst", but it's kind of funny. I was underneath the blackboard at school , crouching to pick something up. And the blackboard has two moveble pieces at both sides which kind of work like doors. One was right under me. So I wanted to stand up and banged my head right into it. I stood up and everyone in the class was giving me a weird look. I was like "what, is there blood? Is there blood?". And some guys goes like "yeah man, a lot of it". "What? Where, man?". Turned out there was just a small wound on my head, but a lot of blood came out. It was all over my face, too. So I had to go to the some kind of office to have it cleaned up by someone. And seeing as I was all bloody, everyone was just staring at me. Weird. I got very dizzy and I almost fainted too. But it turned out alright. My hair was red-ish for the rest of the day <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Ikea have lots to answer for.
There's a few things all men loathe:<ul><li>Tax</li><li>Headaches</li><li>"Flat pack"</li></ul>---
Personally despite leading a very active lifestyle, I've never broken a bone or lost more than a few ml of blood. I feel somewhat leftout. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
1)When i was 4 or 5, i was coming home from somewhere (can't remember where), and tripped over my mum's foot, smashing my head on a stone flowerpot, right in the middle of the forehead. All i remember after that was the blue sheet with a hole in it that they used when giving me stitches. Apparently, it only took a couple of minutes to get the stitches done, but looking back, i always thought it was hours or something <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
2) When i was 8, went down a little hill in a forest on my bike, not realising that i should have been braking on the way down, went over a bump, flew off my bike, which landed with one pedal fully buried in the mud. Barely anything to show ofr it either <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
1) While going out to play rugby i slipped on the wet concrete (it was raining) and bruised quite a few ribs. For some reason, warning lights did not go off in my head and i ended up playing the entire match. I only had minor pains while the match was on (due to the adrenaline, probably), but the next week or so were anything but pleasent.
2) Studded in the cheek playing rugby. It hurt like hell but i never bothered going to the doctor. Luckily the cut did not get infected and it healed quickly.
3) When i was young (9ish) i used to have problems with my knees. The muscles behind my kneecap would sometimes 'lock' in a bent angle and the slightest movement caused quite alot of pain. These would often go on for 5+ hours, so i had to slowly apply heatspray and flex my leg out <i>very</i> slowly. Not a nice thing for a 9 year old <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
It hurt. D:
