Why's This Happening?

WTH is this bs? I see other people play jsut fine but when I goto get on the server it says what I said above.


I'm afraid if the steam people can't get their stuff together and fix things asap I probably won't have any other choice but to take a giant dump on'em lol just kidding.

I just started getting this error today, absolutely annoying. A quick look through the steam support told me that it would happen if the server and I were behind the same router, and other network related issues.

Not exactly helpful in my case. Apparently if it happens randomly, delete your clientregistry.blob to force steam to renew your ticket on reconnect.

that usually happens when the authentication servers for steam are overloaded, or are down. just wait 30 mins to an hour and everything should be back to normal.

Yes, delete you clientregistry.blob and log out of your steam profile (not exit, logout) and log back in. Your problem should be solved. Also the usual standards of troubleshooting apply(reboot, join various servers, etc.)

HELP!

I started getting the exact same error today!!!!!

I even deleted that file, restarted steam, even my PC and it still gives me the error!!!

I had this error today for a short while. Chances are steam auth server 35 just went down for a while and screwed up a few people connections while it happened.

i got this error once yesterday immediately after i connected to a server. i reconnected to the same server and it never happended again. interesting problem

It's happened to me before too... never figured out how it happened, but it does.
