Can't blame them, they only want you to do well. I think its pretty standard to have parents moan at you to do revision.

This thread would be so much cooler with typos.

My parents didn't care (besides an off-hand comment); I suppose it depends on which exam you're taking though.

Before the Wisconsin (...area) specific ACTs I got 4 hours of sleep and got a 28 (gots tuh have mah video games), but you can take that one more than once [which I was too lazy too; pffft, Madison still sent me their crap, but I can't afford Madison ]. There was also my driving test...which I failed the first time for speeding . I find I do better when I'm worried about it a little (because I find out I did as/better than really expected)...I suppose because it makes me run through facts in my mind during free time.

Studying for my ACTs helped enormously. When I first took the test in 8th grade with no preparation, I only got 28. When I studied for several weeks and took it again a few years later I got a 32. The scale is skewed, so that's a much larger jump than it seems. I probably would not be where I am now if I had not spent as much time as I did studying; I probably would not have studied nearly as much as I did if it weren't for my mother's constant nagging. Some parental pestering can do a lot of good in some cases.

I didn't study for my GCSE's and still passed... but then not all kids have my amazing intellect.

My parents knew I would do well on those tests, so they didn't bother bugging me. I went into the SAT 2 without knowing that there was a short essay to write, and I still got a 640 on the written section. The only thing I struggled with was the analogies on the SAT 1, but you can't really study to learn the meaning of thousands of words.

I wish I'd studied, no matter how well you've think you've done if you had studied you would be that bit further along. Even if you got top marks in everything without you'd have been better. Studying not only gets you the grade you want/need/deserve but also gives you good habits for later on and, no matter how smart you are, at some point you will get something that will take more effort.

I enjoyed myself more of course , but I'm paying for it now.

GCSE's are a doddle, you have to try hard to get anything below a C and with the most minimum of effort you can get a B or an A. I've heard it's even easier over in America but I doubt anything can be much easier tbh.

What exactly are the GCSE's? I tried a google search, but I don't really know what to look for.

They are the tests you take at the end of Year 11 in the English/Welsh curriculum.(16 years old)

It's hard for anyone with half a brain to get below a C in a normal subject. Except english, because everyone knows that english classes are the spawn of satan

I'm going to echo the sentiment that they're not annoying you because they hate you. Whether or not a lot rides on these exams, they think it's in your best interest to study. And it probably is. So go study.
