your all wimps. Last time i went i wore a t-shirt and jeans (yeah i did have to wear a jumpsuit and mask over the top). Got shot once in the back, only stung for a few seconds then went away. Only wear protection if your fat or cant dodge/manouvere very fast or well.

What I wore when I played Paintball:

Green Bright Short Sleeve Shirt
Regular Jean Pants that were blue

A man's man. Paintball's dont hurt unless they shoot you from 5 feet away. Or unless you get hit in the head which doesn't happen often. Can't say anything for the balls because I never been shot there.

Oh thank God, something I know about. I would buy a cheap mask because if you get a rental one they usually smell and fog up. Also, get a pair of cheap gloves. You NEED long pants, but you can wear a T-Shirt. If the place you go to rents camo jumpsuits get them, especially if you're playing woodsball. One time I played with my friends and I was the only one who payed the $5 to get a camo jumpsuit, and as it turned out, I was the only one NOT to get ticks. Also, I would wear some cleats if you have them, but any old pair of tennis shoes or hiking boots will work just fine.

My golden rule

Don't go up against a squad of army O[s in paintball....

I did that... thye had modified US Army weapons... full squad... 2 had M16's, 1 had a paintball scattergun, 2 had single shot pumpguns, and the one I feared had a bloody "chaingun" style...

6 barrels, rotating, emptied a 2000 round hopper in less than 30 seconds...

It ... flipping... HURT... I got PELTED by it... was like OW OWWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOOWW AAAHHHHHHHH *thud*

BulletHead said it best. Do not play attack and defend against Army guys. They WILL hurt you. Badly. I played an attack and defend game at a large castle once. I got about 15 feet from the wall when I was pelted about 3 times in the upper torso, 2 times in the leg and once in the temple. The latter caused my ears to ring for 5 minutes. It was not until later that I found out I went up against Ex-SEALs. Ouch.

I've been paintballing for over three years now and yet to be hit in the balls. Just don't be a retard and ask people with fast shooting guns if they're full-auto. Because they're not.

Hmm I love my setup:

Tippmann 98 + flatline barrel + RT trigger (holy ****, this pwns everything )
-
Armotech Zeus g1
-
Black Dragun Compact for backup incase my 98' goes on the fritz like it usually does (decent electronic gun for the price I must say, I won it at a senerio game a few months ago)
-
Cleaning stuff: Wash rag, itty bitty spray water bottle (keeps from mask streaking when you wipe it off), straight squeegy (good for me, since I cant simply unscrew the barrels on my zeus/tippman ), and a swab for getting the barrel perfectly clean if you got a barrel that puts a spin on the ball like my flatline.
-
Mask (A MUST): UT mask + fan for the famous foggy goggles. If you dont have something to keep your goggles clean ingame, find some kind of a oil that dosent blur and make a light coat inside the goggles so they dont fog. If they do fog, DO NOT TAKE THEM OFF INGAME.
-
Protective gear (I only wear gloves and 'tanker' waterproof steel-toe boots): Just some gloves really, I play in shorts and tshirt when its nice/warm outside. Steel toe boots (waterproof) and kneepads are good too if you do alot of running/sliding. Not hard to break your toe/knee sliding around. Tie boots tight too, I've seen people break ankles because they run too fast and step wrong. I heard getting shot in the neck really sucks, putting something around your neck might not be a bad idea. I dont though, I'm smart enough to keep my head angled down. If your going to be playing in woods, pants are a must. Thorns and ticks will own you if you dont.
-
Extra gear: I carry a squadbuster grenade on me. Never had to use it in a whole year so one should last you a long time. An extra CO2/compressed air tank helps alot, I've supprised the hell out of people running out of air then changing tanks then jumping up and unloading my RT into their faces
Radios are good to have too. I use mine when I'm playing in scenerio games when theres alot of people playing, other than that their not too useful unless your playing on a large scale field.

Yea, thats about all.

*edit* The barrel you choose can make a huge diffrence. I suggest a barrel thats curved like a flatline barrel that will put a spin on the ball like a real bullet and make it go really far. Mine can shoot up to a football field without losing any height in a straight line because it floats on a pocket of air due to the spin. If you dont go for a curved barrel, get one with as few ports as possable. Port holes do NOTHING, no matter what anybody says. Most they do is make it more quiet, but theres nothing thats going to be quiet enough to where you dont hear it. Longers barrels can be good to a point, but once they get so long their only creating friction and not push. About 8 to 10 inches is as long as you should go, any longer is pointless. That should take care of some stupid paintball barrel myths.

I play at Conders Paintball Field by Ft.Knox/Lousiville Kentucky on weekends when I'm not playing, drop me a note if you play around here (I know x5 does, i 'bumped' into him once on accident lol)

Oh, most important gear in a paintball game is probably common sense. And here's a story to show you why.

Was playing at Promised Land Paintball Grounds here in Wisconsin on a school outing, we're sitting around getting briefed and some kid comes up, sticks the gun to my foot and pulls the trigger. Now, I'm wearing CONVERSE shoes and the guns are dialed to about 300f/ps. Needless to say, I bled. Well, judge saw it, walks over to the kid and slams him in the face mask, with his hand, down on the ground, screams at him and the kid is banned for life. Yeah, don't do stupid ****.

I found that paintballing doesn't hurt as much as people say it does. I only went in a tshirt and jeans, then the ypc supplied camo. I got hit in the leg at a range of about 15 meters. I also got hit from a range of about 1meter by the predator, the bastard. It didn't hurt that much either.

And here is Mr Pink hair after said event

rifled would be the word you were looking for Drfuzzy (a rifled barrel is one that has groves to give a bullet/ball that special spin that drasticly increase acuracy and range).

yah, I aint buying all the PB equip, just some crap to keep me from not injuring my self to much.

Aka, I wil probably just be wearing longpants and a long shirt.

As I said prior, mask/goggles/marker are all going to be field suplied ones. One of the people I am going with will definatly have some anti fog gunk, so I will probably bum some off of him (Assuming the field goggles don't already have it on them).

And I am a very paranoid person when it comes to safety, I know how to handel a real gun, and plan on treating the paintball equip the same. That and I don't feel like sitting in the parking lot for the day

You do NOT need 10 layers of clothing. Jeans and shirt will do. Getting hit does not hurt. Now, I only skimmed through this thread because I don't have the time to decypher some peoples (annoying gimmicks) spelling. The most important thing in paintball is to camp. Camp it up. Bring a tent if you need one, seriously. If you get tagged, most of the time you won't see it coming. So stay put

This thread has perfect timing, as I'm also going Paintballing on the 24th at Adventure Games Paintball here in NH. 2 friend and I are going with a fairly experienced player to help ease the process. I'll make sure to wear my old BDU pants from CAP.

Or you can be aggressive, and actually have fun. Yesterday me and three of my other speedball buddies (for you nubs speedball is paintball on a small field and it uses inflatable bunkers and super fast shooting guns), did one all out 4 v 30 rush through an open field. Of course we got killed, but it sure was fun.

As for my equipment, I currently own a Proto Matrix, but it is one of the crappiest peices of junk ever made and it has broken so many times I've never been able to use it in the past 4 months I've owned it. I've had to send it back to Dye once, and now the board fried again, so I've sent it back, again. I will be getting my money back for the Proto, and I will get either the Angel '05 Speed or the Smart Parts Vision Shocker.

I believe most of the stuff is scenerio/woods, I don't know if they do speed ball there or not.
