<div class="IPBDescription">graphics or other settings...</div> I dunno if anyone else has the same problem, but...
Ok here's the story.
I installed NS, got on a server, played a bit, then changed the graphics rendering from open GL to D3D and my computer crashed and had to dump the physical memory. I came back onto the game after the reboot, double clicked on a server on the server, it loaded, and before it was able to display the graphics, it crashed again in the same fashion.
(Now at this point I'm thinking to myself "Wow, it must be because I changed the settings to D3D")
So anyway, I go and change it back to openGL and after I press ok, the computer crashes again in the same fashion...
I wanted to know if there was something I could do to rectify this problem...Is it something I'm doing wrong? Do I need to change the settings or reinstall? Or does my computer just suck? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Comments
Get all software updates (Windows update, etc), update DirectX 9, video drivers.
Any other problems? System unstable in other circumstances? What OS?
Why did you switch to D3D to begin with? Was there a problem? System specs?
More info the better. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I've updated the drivers for it, so that I can play HL2 with it.
I have the newest Direct X9 and the windows update will not let me install the service pack 2, which is a bummer because supposedly my copy of windows isn't legit, or the CD key was invalid or something like that...
Anyway I switched to D3D in hopes that it would make the framerate a little bit smoother. I had no idea it would mess things up.
system specs are an intel celeron cpu at 1.70 ghz with 512 mb ram
