Won Install Error

<div class="IPBDescription">error</div> when i try to install ns I get a massage saying that I dont have a valid won for half-life or steam. I have half-life and half-life 2 on my comp with steam but I had HL2 on my comp first whats going on? what can I do?

WON? That's the really old network that was used before Steam.

Can you play Half-Life 1 through Steam? If not, then go to Play Games --> Browse Games --> Register a product that I already own, and then enter your HL1 cdkey. It should start downloading HL.

If you have HL1 working, then start a new game in the training level. Then, exit NS and close steam. Then install NS and when it asks you where to install it, use this folder:

c:\program files\Steam\SteamApps\<i>email-or-username</i>\half-life

You can replace c:\program files\ with something else if you installed Steam to a different folder.
