<div class="IPBDescription">"inspired by Crossfire"</div> Now, try to understand my point here: I'm not publicizing the fact that a new HL2 map is coming out, I'm publicizing the fact that their saying it was "Inspired by Crossfire", which could possibly be the <i>best</i> team based map EVER, at all.

...theres the actual quote.
I hope to see new screenshots of this, because this already is sounding like a grand, grand thing.
Also note that I know that many, many Crossfire maps have come out already, but none of them have that "kill everyone outside" thing working just yet. Now they will.

/me waits for the hopeful sqeual to one of the best HLDM maps of all times.
I believe that's it. There's a number of community-made ports out already -- I've played on 4 different ones -- but none I've played have *both* a functional nuke system *and* proper adjustments to compensate for the different balance of weapons between HL1 and HL2 (particularly the gravgun).
Anyways, some of the maps I really hope to see given the Source treatment are from Opposing Force DM, like gasworks and park.
I'd like to see an HL2 map that can compare, using all the tools we have available in hl2...
Best one was at a LAN party though: Three people busily crowbaring each other, and I launch a rocket into the fray. We couldn't stop laughing.
EDIT: yes, I did.
Oh Christ, Tau *whorng is so much fun. Back before the updates nerfed it, when you could literally fly around with that thing, if you had the ammo and health locations memorized, the entire map was constantly revolving far below you as you soared overhead. It was great. Those were good times.
Which reminds me, you can GravGun jump now right? And there's no ammo limit on it? All you need is one of those sawblades, and you could jump to hard to get spots. The only problem is that it doesn't send you extremely far, only slightly abusable, until someone works out a way to basically bunny-grav-hop. With the right angles and movements, it's probably possible.
*Intentional spelling error.
On a weird note there's actually 3 barneys in the level; you just don't see them in DM because monsters are turned off. Scared the heck out of me when I first tested a mod with monsters turned on, ran around a corner and bumped into a barney XD
"It's not a remake of Crossfire, but rather a map based in a water runoff area that incorporates the "call in the airstrike, defend the bunker" gameplay. Hope you enjoy it.
Cliffe
VALVe"
We shall see I guess.
dm_steamlabs is inspired by datacore
-edit- and you might as well call steamlabs a straight remake of datacore. The layout is exactly the same.

We need to play it
Back in the days when I went to LAN cafes everytime after school ended, we'd fire up a game or so everytime.
For mass mayhem, throw in impulse 101. Good times XD
Always had fun blowing up the mines place in the small vent dropoffs in the gun towers and killing the campers inside the bunker <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Ahh....those were the days....
*seize bunker, defend with land mines*
*mines blow up, shotty fights*
*make secret team alliances*
*fight over bunker*
*press nuke button*
'Hurry up!'
'Oh crap! It's shut!'
'Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!'
*boom*
*massive LOLing all over the cafe coupled with confusing stares at a non-CS game*
*repeat*
So has anybody else played it yet?
Just....wow...I dont know if it was the server but all the ammo was insta respawn whenever you picked it up...and people just camped inside the red container spamming the pulse rifle secondary fire...godam madness
And what hl1dm map is steamlabs based on? I can't put my finger on the name...
Not nearly enough ammo on the lower levels
EXPLOITS EXPLOITS EXPLOITS
Theres so many exploits its not even funny. There must be 10 different ways to get outside of the map/playing field (guess cliffe never heard of clipping), an exploit in which a player can ride the airstrike console back into the ceiling, and therfore call unlimited airstrikes with no threat from other players, and if you GG jump up to the high buildings, you wont die from the airstrike.

The headcrab cannister airstrike is awesome, though.

steamlab would be based on datacore, i believe.
from what i played of runoff, on an incredibly laggy server, it doesn't really resemble crossfire in any way, except for the nuke, which is a bit of a shame.
