Letter From Flayra

i along with most of u got a letter from flayra, which i took to mean that if we raise 50,000$ we can have a huge say in the new ns(i have 50,000 yen) that means we can have a hovering scorpion, a hive snail, and all the other amuzing traits we want. The reason for this tread is to hear about all the crazy ideas people have had threw out they span of ns. As u can see by my join date i am relativly new and i cant find the hive snail nor the scorpion, and i know there is a gold mine out there off asanine ideas that sent u roffling on the floor. So please share your thoughts on those great ideas.

personally I'd love to see the gorge be able to turn into a giant octopus, that can eat marines whole, but spits them out cause they taste bad without salt....so the hive 3 weapon is pepper *doh*

I never got this blashpemeous letter. I take it to mean from the fact that you take it to mean that $50,000 = whatever you want goes into ns that your ideas will be all but ignored entirely.

i think $50,000 is the minimum investment required to have say/vote in what goes into the next NS title development. in terms of control, you probably will have the equialent of 2-5% stock holdings of a public company, considering that it takes like $1-3 million on average o fully develop a game nowadays.

Beta testers play to test balance and notice bugs. Exterminators take that vague bug and hunt down how its reproduced. We also enter the bugs into mantis for the programs to have their way with it.

If I had the money I think I would honestly only ask Flayra to pay me back what I donated and not ask for any profit. In my opinion, the whole NS team deserves the income they are going to get from NS2, as they have created and supported an excellent mod, even thought there were no financial benefits for them.

I feel that mappers should start putting better accomidations on "The Clorf" so that Lerks will be more comfortable while they spray down devistation from above.

RaVe hit nail dead on.
Flayra really means that the company is looking for people to invest in the company, so development can be completed and done faster.

I'd say that a lot of dumb ideas are in the Ideas&Suggestions forum, but that would take out the point of this thread.. and people would start flaming, and it'd get very nasty.

So I'll contribute:
Personally, I once had an idea to have an alien (geez, this was old.. like 2.0 when I thought of this..) that bores around, and leaves holes and stuff. Sort of like the antlions do in HL2. I just thought it would be cool. I thought of this one because not too long ago, I saw a draft version of someone drawing what a cool Kharaa Queen would look like, and it look like it dug around stuff.
