Help me argh!
I got windowblinds right, but then uninstalled it hoping to get the original XP theme on. with the chunky blue bars up the top, etc.

One problem: That theme is GONE. I can't find anywhere in display properties the default XP theme. It says:

My Current Theme
Windows Classic Theme
Brows for more themes ...

Wasn't there a Default XP Theme in there before, somewhere?

I got windowblinds back, hoping it would offer something other than the eyesore that is windows classic ... "Loading Theme ... Done"

But, nothing changed apart from the desktop background.

You don't have a roommate who uses your computer when you aren't there do you? (that's how Kazaa mysteriously "appeared" in my registry)

Stick with Windows classic, it's much better than that ugly XP theme.

No room mate. I'm the only one who uses this pc.

The problem with "sticking to this" is it isn't even windows classic. It's some kind of super-ugly version of windows classic ...

    You could try System Restore.

I like the windows classic theme better than any of the ones that came with xp. Mainly because I find the xp themes with the rounded edges and what not to be hideous and slightly cartoony. I don't really know how to solve your problem, hmmm......

StyleXP is better than windowblinds anyway.
If you don't want to get that, you could just manually install themes and use the uxtheme.dll patch. (Google it)

    I found my theme so...
Try downloading this and extracting it in here "C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes"

Thanks, but no go. It doesnt appear on the theme list, so I went to appearance and it had SouLuna there ... already on. It had the souLuna theme in the little example window ...

I pressed apply (even though I hadn't changed anything) and it said Loading ... and the loading box changed to the "SouLuna style" loading box. Then the loading box disappeared as if it had applied the theme, but alas ... no.
All that's changed is the desktop colour.
