One will be a full 3D animation series (with 30-minute episodes) of the recent Cartoon Network Clone Wars shorts, and the other a live-action series, that will be set in the time between Episodes III and IV, but won't feature the main characters. Production is expected to begin in about a year.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Is ignorance bliss?
Yes, so inject me with some Star Wars Sedative luvvin.
Appearently Mr. Lucas never played through KOTOR2, nor did he notice Rogue Squadron 14: Hoth Again From A Slightly Different Angle
I hope they will be good and entertaining.

Seconded
Yes, I know about KOTOR and such, and yes I've played KOTOR, and yes, I still do hate it.

really? Like you actually <i>hate</i> it?
I thought it was very good, made me want to get KOTOR 2 that's for sure. It's all about the type of game too though. You may not apreciate the linear-but-not-so-linear-turn-based-killing approach. I didn't think i'd like turn based fighting but It grew on me nicely.
As for the TV series - as long as it's good 3D and story I'm happy. I remember seeing episodes of the starship troopers 3D show and can picture it being like that. Preferably it would have better characters and plot.
The acted out one though.. I'm a skeptic. I'll watch it but I'm not overly enthusiastic.
That's probably the problem. I have a hard time enjoying games in which I do not directly control the character(s). Meaning real-time combat, preferably in the first-person.

That's funny. I enjoyed KOTOR2 and every single one of the Rogue Squadron games. Gamerankings says KOTOR2 hovers at about an 87, and the Rogue Squadron games are at 90, 84, 80, and 77. If that's your idea of milking a franchise for money then your expectations are so high you must sob each morning when there aren't large piles of money at the foot of your bed, surrounded by nubile virgins waiting to tend to your every need.
And I'm still playing Galactic Battlegrounds (as well as various SW based mods, mmmmm).
I enjoyed KOTOR2 as well, however the fact remains is that it was pushed out the door before it was finished, along with practically every other lucasarts game, to make a quick buck.
I haven't gotten the "unfinished" feel from SW: Republic Commando. The game is pure awesomesauce in a can. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Every extension is milking it in some way or another, so what? Gets us more stuff, but I don't see the live action one doing too well.

The problem is that "milking it" carries a negative connotation. It conjures up images of George Lucas and his corporate posse sitting there and thinking of every conceivable thing they can do to the Star Wars license to get money out of it. That is not what happens.

Star Wars themed muppet show! They already have Yoda damnit!
Gimme my damn SW muppets.
The end was highly disapointing for me, no real endfight and anything, but meh
the story was so cool, i couldn´t stop until i was spent!
And i agree that Lucas milks starwars. Its still one of the most innovative series i know. He is just enhancing the universe and filling it with more life and storys!

Yeah the ending sucked. I was gearing up for some insane rescue mission that went against orders then... "no, be a good clone" and some speech, then the game ends. The rest of the game is "pwn" though.

Yes, that's milking a franchise :/ And no, I dont think my expectation needs to be high either :/
Your expecations certainly don't need to be high; they're there already. You think that a 77 as the lowest score is milking a franchise? Are you some sort of elitist who only plays games that redefine the genre or something? Sometimes it's just enough to be really fun and set in the Star Wars universe. It doesn't have to be the second coming of Jesus; it's certainly not "milking."
