Vote your choice
I'm putting this in here instead of in Off Topic as I want only the people who really know about TWG to vote. And there's still people in Off Topic who don't know anything about TWG for now. Anyway, here's the canidates for hosting TWG V.

Bold your vote.

TheMuffinMan
Players: 18 slots
Wolves: 4
Game Type: Standard TWG Game

Renegade
Players: 18-20 slots
Wolves: 4
Game Type: Standard TWG Game

Mantrid
Players: 20 slots
Wolves: 4
Game Type: I'd like to drop the Guardian, and then have 3 Masons. Masons
are humans, and they know all the other Masons. An instant network,
but one that may look like wolves to other players, as there is no
real way to confirm that they're Masons

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I would apply to host myself but I have a feeling my time is going to be rather limited with school in the next while.

Also one added addition to the rules. No showing screenshot's of your PM's. Only copy-pasting text. This is mainly due to the fact that someone with photoshop experience may have an unfair advantage over those who don't, and could make their proof seem more solid this way.

Also, sorry it's late. I thought I said 5:30 EST.

EDIT: 24 hours should be long enough to vote. If we need more it'll extend.

TheMuffinMan. I was hoping for a little more creativity in terms of special roles here... Muffins game is the only one that looks fairly balanced between humans and wolfs to me, and renegade has hosted before. (which is not a bad thing, I loved that game, but other people should get a chance too)

I'm going to vote for Mantrid. I like the idea of having new roles. I also think it will be fairly balanced, since anyone that reveals themself as being important is guaranteed to be killed without a guardian.

I say we give TheMuffinMan a chance. Renegade has already hosted once, and Mantrid's game seems like a guaranteed human win.

I'm going with Renegade because Mantrid's idea seems unbalanced, Renegade has experience (and he would die instantly if he were a player because of his experience anyway) and I just don't like the whole "Fish" thing.

    TheMuffinMan - 2 (lolfighter, swiftspear)
    Mantrid - 1 (im lost)
    Renegade - 1 (Pulse)

TheMuffinMan is clearly the last wolf. My reasons are the sucpicious way he has been acting and his realitive inactivity compared to last game.

    Er...
I like his idea because it gives the wolves the most chance, and they need to win sometime...

I'm sorry, the Mason thing sounds like an excellent idea, but it just sounds too overpowering with only 20 people. And Renegade's already hosted, and if we give him another powertrip he'll likely overdose.

Hmm. I like the idea of the masons, but maybe there ought to be an extra wolf to compensate? Or is that tipping the scales too much in the wolves' favour?

Renegade. Meh I kind of wanted a wizard (finds out who seers is but doesn't know who wolves are, also works with wolves) to be in one of the games. I mean it opens up lots of things like pretending to be a wizard to trick the wolves or wolves + wizard working together to take down humans.

Also I am not sure about Masons.

That would be great, but in four games we have not even had anything as complex as a fake seer ploy yet. I reckon that we should wait a while until we are all able enough to play complex games before bringing in new roles.

I have an interesting (if a little abstract) idea for a story involving fish and an aquarium, among other things. For those who want a simple or believable story (Like lolfighters, for instance) then you would probably be better voting for someone else

We need a game that gives more power to the wolves. They obviously need it, since the humans are too good.

Having followed the last 3 twg's with great interest, and wanting to play in this one, i'd have to say that i would prefer a Standard game for my first one. But with the number of people looking to play wouldn't maybe 20 players with 5 wolves be a better option? If anyone goes for that option i will vote for them. Until then i won't cast a random vote, it looks too wolfish. (oh btw when is end of day, i don't want a phantom vote after all!!!)

I don't think so. TWG 4 was won by a whisker (If we had voted Talesin out rather than Nem, we would have lost). In TWG 2 the humans were very lucky and in the other two games the wolves came pretty close. As I said before, we have not seen anything truly elaborate yet, so we should keep the rules simple until we see more complex behavior from the wolves.

The failure to kill the Seer (until late game) has been a great downfall of the wolves so far.

Yep, and i would pin it down to human luck just as much as skill, unfortunately. The game is pretty balanced with 18 players and 4 wolves, as far as i have seen.

I have an idea that would give the wolves somewhat of an advantage depending on how they use it.
The wolves know who was seered. Or if that might be a bit overpowering, the wolves know who gets seered if it's a wolf that's seered.

    Comments?

Put it in your description of a game you want to host....come TWG VI.
  • TheMuffinManTheMuffinMan Join Date: 2002-12-20 Member: 11234Members, Constellation
If the wolves were told who was seered, they would have a massive advantage as they could effectively stop the seer from ever networking with confirmed humans. The second idea seems fairly harmless though, and it would probably help the wolves prepare themselves for a public announcement from the seer should he find any wolves.

Too overpowering, First of all, most seers including me, the humans they find are the ones that help them. As in, you find a human, you try to convince the human that you are the seer and a human, you guys team up, then when you find the wolves (or find enough humans to know who the wolves are) you all team up and vote on them.

Basicly the wolves will kill every human the seer seers, meaning no alliances against wolves. Also the 2nd game, the wolves made a few mistakes at the start that gave away most of them (also the time they accidently killed regenade instead of swiftspear ) Lets just ignore that win I guess. Maybe another regular game and see what happens, if the humans wins again maybe some sort of buff to them.
