Coming soon...
Many of you have heard of TWG by now, but for those who haven't, let me offer a quick explanation.

TWG is a strategy game that's been played over the NS forums since January. We've had 4 successful seasons so far, and lots of fun for everyone who has participated. The games are played here in the roleplaying forum, so take a look around if you haven't already. Visit the stickied thread at the top to see the rules, FAQ's, etc.

Right now, the host sign ups are taking place where you can vote on who you would like to see host the next game. So if this looks like something you're interested in playing again or for your first time, take a wander down there.

After the new host is elected, game sign ups will begin sometime shortly thereafter in the Off Topic forum.

Lastly, in the rules thread there are also now award signature banners like the one in my sig. If you're a past TWG winner go claim yours now!

If you have any questions, please feel free to address them in #ns-twg on irc.gamesurge.net

If you haven't played in a TWG before, I highly recommend keeping your eyes peeled for the next sign up date. It's the best way to loathe your fellow forumites ever!

I'm not sure I'm going to sign up for the next one. If I do I'll be an obvious target.

With my luck, the signups will be during the time I'm at school.

Freak, why don't you set up the signups at different times? For example, 5 slots open up at 6:00 GMT, 5 more at 12:00 GMT, 5 more at 18:00 GMT, et cetera. Then, people with different schedules have a better chance of getting in.

Wasn't planning on doing this until signups were in extremely high demand. (like all the slots are filled literally within a minute of the thread being unlocked.)

Course TWG IV signups did go by a lot faster than the rest.

We'll see, I'll discuss it with the new host.

Woudn't it be better if all the people playing in the game were awake/active at the same time?

I don't think we have enough interest in any one timezone to make a 14+ player game of TWG. There could be two small games (one Euro, one US), but I don't think it would be as fun.

As long as the "days" are long enough, there's usually enough time to get together in a timezone overlap. (Pulse, Talesin and I managed communicating okay; I think they're both in the States, whereas I'm a Brit.)

After the signup thread fills up with people, others should keep posting if they are interested in playing in a TWG. The game for TWG 5 would be set, but it would give more direction for TWG 6. The host of TWG 5 could contact those people at the end of TWG 5 through PM and check to see if they are still interested. We don't reliably have enough people now for two separate games, but we should check to see what it will be like in the future.
