I went AWOL as well (due to feeling like **** the entire week)
I will probably be playing more again.
Though Cyn has now gotten me hooked on uplink

I unilstalled it seen as you're all level 40+ and i'm still level 7
Great game. Too bad the servers are down, and therefore I can't get the patch i need up. Another 'gameguard curse' game? (gb,maple,mu all suffer cos of it) Or is the downtime temporary?
And I don't have a Lv 40. I only have a Lv 30, though I'd be glad to help anyone level. And yay for an M&A60 Vise
Teq and I will probably jump back on soon (maybe even tonight). We've both had exams to deal with recently, and when we do find the time to play, there's nobody else that'll join our games. Fun times!
True, but I call it that cos all the games that have it are all Korean-based,and in each of these games it had 10,000 bugs. Long story for another time. And nobody told me whether they had experienced the same problems with patching the game or whatever. I do really want to play this game.
I'd like to say that this game has the worst technical crap ever. I can't update my patch. The site says NOTHING. I can't even log into the forums to register. The forums say NOTHING from a dev about the patch problem. Yet people have posted. In short, this has to be the worst beta I've ever seen, unless I'm missing something like people could only enter on May 10th exactly. Otherwise, the worst beta game I have just discovered. Now could someone god damn help me on this.
Ok Pulse. It is human error that the patch updates are down. It is human error that the forum registration will not work. It is human error that people made a game with bad technical support for the late joiners. It is human error that you failed to answer the question. It is human error that you chose a smart-**** response. Now Pulse, time for the useful answer,or somebody else.

It's a fun game, but yes, technical support sucks ***.
Could you describe what happens when you try to patch a bit better? I don't know the solutions for most of them, but I know if it makes your computer restart you need to get a different network card, or different drivers for it. (This is the problem I was having.)
edited to the proper number of asteriks, lol
some Mag questions - once you get your mag to 100, is that its max level? if you keep feeding it, do its stats keep going up, or do they get 'locked' when it hits 100? or if it's 100 and you level it up, will a level be taken off another stat?
I'm shooting for a certain kind of lvl 100 mag but I just want to make sure I don't regret the stats I'm raising and not raising...
also... I'm a lvl 17 or so FOnewearl at this point... how much would I have to bribe someone to hook me up with some higher level tech disks? I have about 200 MST and the best spell I have is like the lvl 4 basic ice spell with like a 50 MST requirement...
also also... what's one of the more uncommon types of char? I don't like just being one of the masses; I'd rather be a class/race you rarely see... I was hoping FOnewearl would be one, but it seems we're some of the most common toons...
Yeah FOnewearls are pretty common as they're technically the best FO class in terms of support and attacking. Have to say FOmarls are the rarest you'll see cause of their icky animations and how they're more leaned towards support And what I do know is that PSO:BB surely is lacking RAcaseals
For high-tech disks...I'm pretty sure you can hook up with someone for a Ruins or Mines run. They drop some pretty good disks there. As long as you keep your distance, you won't die. Just be careful of those Sorcerors if you do decide to do a Ruins run.
And lastly....Mags have a max level of 200. However, the final evolution they'll ever have will be at the minimum, Lv 100. Of course this requires tat you have 2 pairs of stats that match each other ( ie DEF+POW = DEX+MIND ) The stats you need to pair will depend on your Section ID, and the Mag you get will depend on your class and gender. The list for the bunch of rare Mags you can get at Lv 100 or beyond can be found here
And as for SuitePee's problem....are you getting an Error 903? In that case you might want to do an 'ipconfig /flushdns' as a sort of solution. I've had this error before, and sometimes, it fixes it. If it doesn't, I usually presume the server is down and try again in an hour. But then again...Sega of America's tech support for PSO was always iffy.
interestingly enough, my other char is a RAcaseal :> but I started getting turned off by the fact that I'd never be able to use techs, and techs are pretty cool... I do enjoy clearing a room of like 6 mobs with 1 FOnewearl tech... and I like being able to sell all my warp gate, hp restoring, and ress items because I have warp gate, healing, and ress spells =p
Well yeah. You sorta need it with all the fluids you really need to buy =X
On a side-note.....who's up for hunting a Musashi or even a Last Survivor for me? I know I can grab a Musashi from the Dragon, but I'm not able to get a Last Survivor. Curse you Whitill! ;_;
I wants it I have to get it later though. I need to leave for an exam later.
And you'll know when the tekkers do the job. The problem it there's no 'proper' item you can get. Everytime an item is tekked, the stats on the weapon are either improved, or well....dumbed down.
I'll take an example with a Hold Partisan +5, +10% Native Efficiency (presume this is the base stats) The outcome can be at best, a Seize Partisan +7 with 15% Native. The outcome at worst would be a Bind Partisan +3, 5% Native.
Of course, a few figures are off, but this is all I remember =X
ahh I got it... you were talking about special weapons (I assume) so I was hoping I wasn't getting items like this Last Survivor you mentioned and getting it mis-identified to some piece of junk I sold :>
Nah. You'll know when you get something like a last survivor because 1) the box on the floor will be red 2) the name will be "Special Weapon" until IDed, where it'll turn Gold and have a completely non standard name (Like Crush Bullet, Last Survivor, DB's saber, Flowen's sword, etc.)
You can still equip and use unidentified items (as long as you could equip what it identifies to, like a hunter can't equip canes for example) so if you're ever curious what something is just take it out :3
As for tekking, unless they changed it there's only 3 things that potentially change: - The Photon Efficiency %. This can vary by up to +10% to -10% of what's stated. - The Grind number. Considering this can be changed with grinders anyways I never bother with it - The Special. Most specials are utterly useless. Guns with ice/frost/chill as well as paralyse types are handy and beserk is fabby if you're a non-robot. Robots can find the health-stealing stuff handy it seems and if you're really desperate for TP sometimes the tp-steal things are good for non-robots but don't expect to really make a 'living' off it :3
Note that you don't have to accept the tekker's first IDing. you can keep refusing until you get an IDing you want or you run out of cash ^~ The key to a good IDed weapon (if you want to use it that is, otherwise just ID it and sell it) is to get an ID with +10% on the Photon Efficiency listed; be prepared to spend a lot of cash just to get that +10% though ^^; The only weapons that are an exception to that are 'flat' weapons. These are unIDed weapons that show 0% for all 4 photon efficiencies. They almost never go up in % and will always remain 0% for all 4 no matter how many times you ID em :/
As for tech disks the best trick is to find someone who's a Pinkal ID and join their games; the sector ID of the person who makes the game you're playing in decides what you'll find and pinkal is the queen of tech disks :3
It's a 903 error. Summary: SEGA are retards regards patching, this is another 'Gameguard cursed' game and therefore I'm not exposing my PC just to play a game this bad. It sounds like it has more errors than any other game, some BETA this is. Good luck to anyone who gets through the wall of s**t this game gives you. Personal tip: don't bother. Waste of my time this has been.....(I'm not changing anything for this game)
what is this 'gameguard curse'? how does gameguard mess up games? I was under the impression it just kept you from alt-tabbing and it had ways of detecting whether memory was being tampered with...
I had 0 problem installing and playing the game, so I have no advice for people with problems...
as for the game being 'bad' - I doubt I'll pay for it when beta ends, but I'm having fun with it for the time being :>
though - is it going to be a monthly fee game, or a buy once game? I might buy it if it's a one-time fee.
also - someone give me a Phantasy Star history lesson :> how is this game similar and dissimilar from previous instances of the game?
Well for starters the game is indeed p2p. I can see quite a number of people falling out after the beta is finished, because I know I'm one of them Frankly, I'd be happy if it was a one time fee but it isn't =\
As for the history....I know nada =X Might want to bug the people that actually played the first 4 RPGs since I haven't touched those yet.
bah, it's got the same kinda gameplay as guild wars, should have the same pay structure

Has been doing so for 2nd day running now.
Tried flushing your DNS yet? If you didn't then you could use the (temporary) solution I posted earlier.
But overall it's pretty much Sega's fault for the general....crappiness of the whole patch process =X
