Need A Good Place To Store Pictures

I just went on a school trip to Japan. I went with 20 other people and had a blast. Anyway on our trip we all took lots of pictures. Now we want to share them conveniently. In my opinion it would be to inconvenient to burn 20 CDs so everyone can have pictures from me. On top of that everyone else would have to burn 20 CDs as well. I had the idea of using some kind of server to upload pictures to. This would be really fast and convenient for everyone involved. So I ask the NS community does anyone know of good places to store pictures on the Internet? There are a few requirements. Firstly, it must be very big. Most people filled up at least two 256mb flash cards and got well over 300 pictures. That brings me to my second point. I need to be able to upload pictures en mass. Also money is a consideration. If possible it would be nice for the server to be free. So does anyone know of any services that could help us?

It won't meet the sheer volume of pictures you want, but you can upload 100 images (1Mb or less) for free to http://xs.to/.

Set up a gmail acount. Email the pictures to the gmail account. Give everyone the username and password and your done. Massive Hosting.

Already tried the gmail thing. That would work fine except its inconvenient. You can only upload 10mb at a time, and if you don't have something like Kodac easy share your going to have to upload around 300 pictures by hand. That doesn't sound fun and its not something your average high school student will do.

    What about:
    http://www.picasa.com

I'm taking a wild guess but i think it can mass mail to gmail.

QUOTE

Send photos via email that are a joy to receive.

Take the guesswork out of sending photos. Picasa 2 automatically resizes and attaches pictures to email messages at sizes your friends will be able to open. Works with most email programs, including Google’s Gmail.

You have 2 options that I can think of:

ImageShack, which let's you upload a pic at a time and host unlimited pics without any signups or anything.

Webshots, which let's you make albums and stuff. Free signup, some restrictions but with 20 pics and 1 album, you don't have to worry.

Um...you can prolly cross those two out...just reread your post. I can, however, let you store the stuff on my website. IM me if you want to use my space. I also have FTP, so you can just uplaod them all at once. I'll even throw in a index page for you.

Thanks for the offer bacon, but I think I got it covered. I just tried that picasa program and it works like a charm. I have a gmail account all set up and we should be getting pictures on there soon.

And now i know it works i think i will be downloading it To be honest though, it's google made so i trust it, and that will eventually be my downfall.

Have you tried Gmail Drive? It looks like a real mounted drive that uses your Gmail account blah blah blah.. bottom line everyone can use Gmail Drive to browse that account for pictures. It's pretty painless and works down to Win98 too.

Just install it, specify the Gmail account, and drop stuff in to that "drive"..

That would mean everyone else would need to install gmail drive. Anyway, i think linking to gmail drive goes against forum rules because it breaks gmails T&C
