Game Freezes Up On Loading

<div class="IPBDescription">game freezes up on loading</div> when i play NS for the most part i have no problems what so ever but,

occasionally after playing 3 maps or and the server loads a new map, right as my computer just about finishes the new map it freezes up on me. seems odd to me

windows xp
AMD Athlon Processor
950 mhz, 512 of Ram
radeon 9600 series 258 mbs ram w/ latest drivers

its quite discouraging

Try reinstalling the game, failing that, new drivers for everything, not just the graphics.
Check your system out for viruses and spyware, but use a multi-threaded attack. Use AVG, and Ad-Aware at the same time, as we're now seeing spyware that can run in conjuction with viruses to reinstate the viruses when they get KO's by the anti-virus.

what I have done so far.

1. i have reinstalled NS, ill try it again
2. i have the latest drivers for my video card windows update and directx
what other drivers would i need?
3. virsuses/spyware this is probally my problem, where can i get a program that would help with this any good suggestions ?

i downloaded ad-aware and everything is running smoothly now, in over 20 map changes the problem reoccured only once! yeppie!
