Hello All, I was an addicted NS player over a year ago however have been denied being able to play ever since steam came into the world complicating things.
-As of right now, I installed steam, half life, updated half life, and installed natural selection, all of the directories unchanged from the installer.
- I have played half life before installing NS
- I can play counter-strike fine
- Steam does not recognize NS, there is no 'third party' games tab
- I try and join NS games anyway through the server list, yet the notorious "your dll differs from the server's" appears even tho I have the same version compatible with that of the server's.
SO two questions, how do I get steam to even see NS?
- possible problems, I have had several installs of NS in the past, I have had several Steam accounts trying to fix the problem and have reverted to my original with my half-life CD key (original steam account of which I installed natural slection to)
And how do I fix the Dll problem? something tells me if i can get steam to recognize NS at all then this problem should go away.
Thank you for your time and help

If you could clean wipe it and do it over, it'd probably work (but that's... a lot of trouble).
The DLL thing shouldn't be happening, unless your DLL is different, corrupted, or otherwise... invalid (obviously).
Very strange, too bad I can't help more.
What does your current path to ns look like?
It should look something like this.
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<accountname>\half-life\ns
Another question. When you say you played halflife prior to installation do you mean you played through steam? Or did you just play halflife through the desktop short cut? You have to start halflife through steam first.
Thank you both for your time and consideration.
