Nintendo's consoles never have been the powerhouses of the console race... the PS2 was the weakest of the three and do you think that meant the blindest damn to it's sales figures? Did it heck!
I ignore the hardware stats because quite frankly they don't matter. As long as it runs games, doesn't explode and the controller doesn't mangle your hands it'll do. It's all about the games people XD

However, that looks...meh. Too rounded. Needs more black.
I wish consoles were just bricks of hardware, no more rounded or stylish than the last generation. I need to stack them in an entertainment center, and with consoles it's not the outside that counts but the inner beauty. A.K.A. good games and guts.

well, when not in use they are stackable except the genesis which is still slightly curved. The point is you can't put anything at any time on top of this funky curved thing nintendo has come up with.
And in June 2005 the Dreamcast 560 will be launched. Title games should include "Shempue 5: Old Age,Same Game" and a copy of "Natural Selection" in console format. Funnily enough,it looks exactly the same as a normal PC,except for the logo on the side of the 'tower' of the PC...I mean Dreamcast 560.
It would be interesting to see console names release PC emulators of their consoles for slightly less than the full price of the console. Of course, low-end machines need not apply.

...if you ignore the fact that the PC isn't a dedicated games machine, costs more than just buying a console, requires considerably more care and knowledge to maintain and also has the rather bad downside of not guaranteeing a specific type of input being available to all who buy the game outside of mouse and keyboard.
Consoles are good at what they do because it's what they're built to do. They're cheaper per unit than a PC for the performance they give, you can absolutely guarantee what you see on the box is what you'll see on-screen and that anyone else in a multiplayer will also see and play the same experience, you don't have to buy any replace any parts, it requires no extra knowledge outside of where the power button is and what way up the games go in to make it work oh and did I mention that most consoles even start up a lot quicker.
The best arguement of all? A console doesn't use your PC so you can leave it doing RAM/CPU crunching 3D renders/map compiles without it effecting your gameplay :p
The PC is great for PC games, but I'll keep my console games to the platform they were designed for in the first place, thankyouverymuch :3

And Sega comes up with new names for their consoles.
Sega is not Microsoft, damnit. ><
Microsoft = PC in a smaller box, Sega = Awesome home hardware (minus Saturn which probably wasn't even that bad but was apparentley what sunk them; that and their battery-eating handhelds... Which, mind you, were way ahead of GB in every area but battery usage...)

Apparantly, the next step in Console Gaming is actually marveling at the look of the console. NO TOUCHY!
