    Iraqi... there are much larger sandstorms in the sahara, not to mention the ones that pelt some towns in egypt. :-)

    Although it is fairly bad for people who are not used to them (aka US soldiers and etc)

    I've been in a sandstorm like that before, although not <i>quite</i> as bad, thank god. It was when I lived in the UAE and my family and I went Wadi-bashing. (A wadi is a dried out riverbed and wadi-bashing is driving in a wadi with a 4WD vehicle. Good fun.) On our way back home, we were caught in a sandstorm like that. It literally took some of the paint off of our cars. 0.o

    Unfortunately since I am behind the USMC firewall I cant get to that picture, but I am assuming it is a picture of the sandstorm that hit here at Al-Asad.
    It looks big in pictures, it was biblical in person.
    I have a picture of it I took right before it hit our airfield and the CH-46s looked like toys.
    Of course cleaning out your nose afterwards was a bit gross. Ever had muddy snot? Yeah.
