Yes, I actually read through EVERY post on this topic. And ONE thing is bothering me above all others...
I REALLY dont care if you've been playtesting this game for months, if all you can say is "get better". That is so annoying and so subtlely elitist to just drop that comment and not offer any ideas as to why the "whiners" shouldn't be whining. If you see someone talking about imbalance and you know for a fact there is balance how about offering your opinion on that. The game IS new yes, but cmon now, it's not chess. It's not SO unrealistic to believe there MAY be some imbalance issues going on with the game that the MODDERS aren't aware of. I understand that creating two VASTLY different groups to play with, it is very difficult to make sure that no team has a distinct advantage over the other.
Now, I played several prepatched servers, and the ALIENS have been souped up just a little, and the MARINES have had their endless supply of goodies taken away from them. Now MARINES either have to work together or die. Which, since most people like to rack up kills, will make ALIENS an attractive feature at the beginning, since they can go off on their own.
I think that, if anything, the marines are slightly underpowered after the patch, although I have a lot of faith in the 'marines haven't learnt how to work in a team' theory.
Those that are saying that a fade can't easily take out a HA / HMG marine; I must be a godlike player because I went on killing sprees of 3 or 4 marines, without any healing between, as a fade, and about half of the marines had heavy armour, and all of them had heavy machine guns. Acid rocket is very effective now, the most important thing about playing a fade is to get the first hit in. If you start shooting at a stationary target, you will normally hit with 2 rockets, maybe some spash dmg from a third, which is at least 120 dmg. Do that three times, no more marines.
