DISCUSS!

Incase the link is slashdotted, the article text is as such:

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Talk about Futurama Direct to DVD

Good news, everyone?

Over the last week, several sources from within the animation business have indicated to us that there is renewed talk at FOX about bringing fresh Futurama content directly to DVD. We corroborated this with other sources close to the show before publishing the information.

The talk is of course still in a preliminary stage. Options reported to us include one or more Futurama movies in case of a go-ahead.

Even though Futurama is not sure to return and the likelihood of its return is currently unknown, this is the first time in the past few years that we have heard of Futurama being discussed at the upper levels of FOX. They'll likely have a good look at the sales of the upcoming Futurama Monster Robot Maniac Fun Collection.

As soon as we get more information on the Direct to DVD story, we'll let you know right here.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    The new Family Guy series was meant to be straight to DVD... and now it's on the TV. Hope indeed!

    Why the heck did Fox ever cancelled Futurama in the first place I will never understand......it was obviously doing well.

    The greatest mystery of all times.

    It cost too much to produce. Same as family guy.

    Simpsons quality was garnered over time while they maintained a HUGE viewer base. Futurama and Family Guy tried to do it right out of the gate.

    Well, futurama was almost always put onto crappy timeslots, during sports, etc. I was watching Futurama since the Pilot episode and it frustrated me to no end to find it on the TV schedule.

    Much easier to just cancel it and put some crappy reality TV show on that probably costs 1/10th to make and gets super ratings.

    You can only blame the drool soaked american sheeple for reality TV shows even getting past the first damn show! I'm sick of turning off the TV because of them... and wish i could push a button to note my extreame hate towards them to those in charge of airing them.

    I'll second that. Big Brother UK is starting up again soon (or so my mother practically sings from the rooftops). I hate it. Hate it a lot.

    There's some people. Wow. They live together. Wow. OH MY GOD! ONE OF THEM SHOUTED AT ANOTHER ONE! DRAMA! OH LOOK, THEY'RE WACKILY COMPETING IN A MIND NUMBING TASK SO ONE OF THEM CAN HAVE HIS CIGARETTES FOR ANOTHER WEEK! ENTERTAINMENT, PEOPLE!

    Christ, go down the pub and chuck an apple at someone's head. Twice the arguments, twice the fights, 10 times the fun.

    Dude, reality TV isn't very American at all. It didnt' even come here until "Survivor" (maybe 'Real World' or 'Road Rules') and is a very Eurasian thing.
