    I really do hate to rain on someones "uber" storm parade, but those clouds are quite normal in a thunderstorm. There is nothing "killer" about them. Now, if there was a swirl of clouds, and it began to rotate... then you might have something to talk about. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    *edit*
    Whoever said SD didn't have humidity hasn't lived here at all. I have never lived somewhere, during in my life where the humidity is constantly over 90% in the summer other then South Dakota.

    Thats ignoring the sixty below (that it hits quite frequently) in the winter as well.

    Well..I did spend as little time there as possible. I was however living over by the badlands, so, unless my memory is going (which is a distinct possibility) it seemed dry to me at the time.....though not to contradict you, I've never spent anytime (expcet driving through, usualy in the dead of the night) in anyother section of the state, so my experiacne might have been a bit abnormal for the state.....

    (I also didn't have to deal with the 60 below weather...Thank god for the way the black hills screwed with the weather....not sure I would have lived through that...
  • CyndaneCyndane Join Date: 2003-11-15 Member: 22913Members
    Yes, the black hills in SD are quite the weird weather patterns compared to the rest of the state. They normally do not get as cold nor as hot and humid as the rest, thanks to the minor mountains in that area.

    Feel lucky that you never had to deal with a SF driven summer and/or winter.

    Just to prove my point, I'll took some pictures yesterday of the "storm" we had move through that morning/afternoon. (however I know how to re-size the pictars! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

    First one is a picture of a little birdy washing up ON MY CAR (it was lightly raining.)
    <img src='http://sio.midco.net/selcock/bird.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    <img src='http://sio.midco.net/selcock/bird2.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    Next are a few pictures of the clouds above my apartment.
    <img src='http://sio.midco.net/selcock/clouds1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    <img src='http://sio.midco.net/selcock/clouds2.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    <img src='http://sio.midco.net/selcock/clouds3.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    <img src='http://sio.midco.net/selcock/clouds4.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    <img src='http://sio.midco.net/selcock/clouds5.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    All that is associated with the canyon clouds is heavy rain, thats it. :-)
