Help With Problem

<div class="IPBDescription">Problem with ns lag</div> When I play ns, every once in a while the screen lags behind the mouse really bad just for a second but long enough to get killed. The ping seems to stay the same during this problem. It also seems to be unrelated to how much action is on the screen.

I play cs and hl fine without any problems.

Any ideas?

Thanks

The most likely thing is a network loss, or connection choke.

<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->net_graph 3<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->Type that into your console, and see if one of the numbers for Choke, or Loss spikes when it happens.

Did that. Most of the time loss and choke were 0. A few times loss went to max of 3 and choke went to max of 1 and those didn't always happen when the mouse lagged.

Consider looking not at the amount of action, but the effects.

I say this because when I used a Radeon VE, certain effects would actually cause the controls to "freeze" up, and mouse input would cease for a few seconds.

It wouldn't always happen, but seemed related to the particle effect on the Phase Gate, or marines being beacon'd.

    Just something to check.

Graphical/input lag on the client is likely not related to network problems.
