Adrenaline

is pumping so hard right now.
I was sitting here, playing around with that Zombie sim from another thread, and out of the corner of my eye, I see a duffel bag start moving toward me from on top of a small pile on my floor. I glance over in time to see, and hear, the duffel bag hit the floor. At that instant, I had a hot/cold rush of the most potent formula ever: fear and adrenaline. I grab the bag and drop it. No weight inside. I grab my knife from under my desk, glancing around my room the whole time. I do a knife-first search of my place, and find nothing. I can only conclude that the bag feel due to gravity, but it doesn't make me feel any better.

I watched someone play Clock Tower 3, which is creepy in itself. Then I got an anonymous text message reading "I'll kill you."

I watched a mate drop three cans of beer in a row, scary stuff really...adrenaline pumping and all that. But mostly the fear, or terror if you will.

creepy. Though it would have probably been more intense if you were playing something like RE4, then you would have just jumped on it and started stabbing it probably.

You should try Vampire: Bloodlines at 2 in the morning, in the dark, creeping round the Ocean Hotel level. I well and truely shat myself during that bit.

Dodging round a hotel, with very little enemies in sight, and being attacked by various ghosts. Think Doom3's womans voice, that one who turns into one of the Lost Souls, then magnify it many times...

    Like I said...

    Well and truely shat myself...

Especially when my cousin walks into the room, and shakes me. I nearly had a ****ing heart attack!

Heh... something similar actually happened to me not too long ago. I was playing System Shock 2 and had just gotten to Operations Deck 4, when I got up to get some food. Anyways, this is at like 3 AM and nobody else is down there. I heard a sliding noise and something slimy moving down the stairwell, and of course it's pitch black at the bottom. Then some bug or something outside the window made a noise JUST like the annelid worms do when you get close to them... I turned on all the lights in my room and never got my food.

[edit] Oh yea, turned out to be a bottle sliding into a bowl of vanilla yogurt and wheat germ someone left out. Nasty. [/edit]

I agree with Lt Patch, that part of the game was awesome. Shame it was so buggy. I got annoyed and traded it in.

And illuminex, do you often keep knifes under your desk?

Anyone play Thief: Deadly Shadows? The Cradle? Yeah...

For some reason, even though the graphics are archaic, Thief 2 freaks me out. I refuse to go fight Zombies or Hammer Haunts. I just won't do it.

Zombies in Thief 2 were freaking insane. They creeped me out so much I refused to go in the tombs.

But mostly sounds freak me out more than sights. Creepy sights aren't as bad to me as strange sounds.

    East.. what boat bug?

With the patch all of the major flaws were fixed...

The only bug I incountered had to do with my video card not wanted to sync up to the games refresh rate. Of course hard coding the max mhz fixed that quite easily.

I find that the scariest things in games are the monsters that you can't beat and its obvious you have to run in order to survive.

Game designers/Movie makers that rely on quick movements and Shock soundings are a bit pathetic. You know what I'm on about, the hand on shoulder with violin screen bit.
