<div class="IPBDescription">Just wanted to see if they're good.</div> Hi all, I'm here to waste your time because it's what I do.

I'm also here because I wanted to buy a new toy from newegg.com, but I found out that same toy from zipzoomfly.com is ~$350 cheaper.

Anybody done business with them? Good? Bad? Ugly?

true, but $350 is too good to pass up as long as they don't sell me something broken.

That name sounds familiar, but I don't see it on my list. Slickdeals is another good place though. Anyway $350 sounds kinda shady.

what really sounds shady is the places that mark up the same projector by like $700, even from viewsonic's msrp.

Now THAT'S pretty shady... My god. You'd think that if you are going to shop online, you'd check enough sites to know the average value.

Ive probably spent more than 500 dollars there. Before (and somewhat after) I found newegg I used zip zoom fly (used to be googlegear) and their service is quite close to excellent.

They have some good prices and a decent selection, but free or cheap 2 day shipping on like everything. Too bad its UPS....Fed Ex would actually get it to you in 2 days <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

So yes, they're a great company. We have RMAed at least once from them with no complaints.

When in doubt about an online retailer, try <a href='http://www.resellerratings.com' target='_blank'>Reseller Ratings</a>

    <a href='http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1991.html' target='_blank'>Zipzoomfly.com's rating</a>

I bought a DVD-ROM from them back when they were googlegear.com . Fine service and prices, but I just prefer Newegg. But a deal's a deal, and Zipzoomfly.com is pretty good.

    Zipzoomfly is good.
I buy from them quite a lot.
    Better than Newegg.

I've bought a couple things from the in the past. Their prices are very good, and even when they're not the best that free 2 day air usually makes it work a couple extra bucks. I've never had any problems with my orders, but I've never had a broken part requiring an RMA either.

Grrrrrrr, I placed my order at 1am PST thursday morning, with overnight shipping so I could either get it friday, or failing that, pick it up saturday from the local fedex distribution center.

At around noon on thursday it went to "Packed" status.

As of this very second, it's status is still "Packed" (which means at the warehouse).

That happened to my dad too. Overnight a harddrive and it took 3 days to get to us...

Yeah. I try to buy from ZipZoomFly whenever I can. Usually it is cheaper with their free 2-day shipping on almost everything that isn't really big. I love them. I even got free CD-R's when I ordered my processor from them (and it works beautifully btw).

I guess everywhere has its ups and downs, it usually ends up being shipped most times though, so I can blame UPS and not the company...

Ive gotten a harddrive via UPS 2 day air, in 5 days.

I always go to ResellerRatings for that kind of info:

I've used ZipZoomFly before, they have great prices on stuff, but their search system sucks. Make sure you know what you want exactly before going on there, or you'll never find it. They are reliable and get you your stuff on-time, so that's good.

I just felt like posting again since I was griping on saturday.

As of this very moment, my order status says it's still "packed" which according to their reference means it's still in the warehouse.

But I just got done playing with it for 2 hours.

    Good stuff, albeit annoying.

I've heard good things about Zipzoomfly, but I havn't had the best experience with them.

When I ordered a $250 video card from them they were known as googlegear I think. The card came broken and they wouldnt replace it....i'll never order from them again.
