Looking for new computer now!!!
Okay, im ****, i hate dell and im not going to get into it. I need to get a new computer, and seeing is how things are getting cheaper i think im in luck.

I may be able to make a computer, but im just not in the mood to. So i want to buy a pre-built computer.

What id like:
PCIe GeForece 6800
Intel Proc
1024mb Ram
5.1 sound
500watt Power supply

What ive already got, and can take from this POS:
48X CD-RW
2 40gig Maxtor 7200rpm HHDs

I already checked out the adds in computer gaming, and didnt really see what i wanted for the price i had in mind. Ive got $~700 dollars, and i may be able to get more from my dad if i ask him nice enough. Please, can some1 help rid me of my pain.

Just go to the normal sites and order the parts you want online. Building a computer isn't difficult and is much cheaper than buying pre-assembled.

I heard pricegrabber.com might be good.
Take one product at a time and compare them on each site.

    why do you want intel?

and if you want a prebuilt machine there are sites that let you pick and choose what you want and then they ship you the final product already built. If you want a warrantry and all that jazz try alienware or falcon northwest

They have low end desktops for as little as 500 (on their current sale).

To get a real gaming rig though (anything with even close to those specs) its still 2 grand...

Nods to the RAM, mobo, and case. But you might try a different power supply, unless you plan to illuminate your room with your computer you don't need more than 500w, 500w is probably more than enough as is. I would suggest going for a better brand PSU it's a pretty damned important part. Good protection against surges and the fact that if it dies on you it might fry all your other expensive parts. Also don't make the mistake my friend made when he built his, check the power supply pin number on the mobo and make sure it matches the pin number on the PSU.

    EDIT:

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...=876413&CatId=0

Here's a 500w modular powersupply. That will help cut down on clutter and it's purdy ultraviolet.

I want as many 4-pin Peripheral connecters i can get, because my dad brings home new HHD's every once and a while and i format/install stuff on them, and unpluging and what not gets boring...

But more suggestions are appreiciated. Ive got till 10 or so till i have to go. Ill be on all night...
