    GoalKeeper better AA/AM defence system

    <img src='http://www.marine.nl/images/scr%2007_goalkeeper_tcm10-1861.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    Yet another reason we Dutch simply rule <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    A Phalanx missile/aircraft defence system off an Aegis crusier.
    <img src='http://www.combatsim.com/memb123/cnews/images03/phalanx.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    I'm pretty sure it is more accurate and has a better responce time, but since I don't know, it looks far more gangsta.

    Goalkeeper is more accurate, has a much longer range and 200meters longer killrange, and can switch targets. Not to meantion that the Dutch and British radar tracking systems pwn all others

    Phalanx is cheaper and easier to install, you can easily fit more of them on a ship. But it has to destroy the target before it can switch targets.

    However it does look better so you win <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Mother nature builds cheaper and longer lived anti-aircraft emplacements.

    Cool, my real time systems project had the same bug. Took the course at a military college, so yes, we were actually simulating anti-aircraft guns on a destroyer.

    Actually Kouji

    the Phalanx is better in terms of sheer power. It fires faster, with a bigger punch. However, it jams a LOT, overheats EASILY, and can onlly track one target vector at a time. if there's 2 missiles inside a 5* vector, it'll just keep resetting and not fire at all... a bug they've recently started to work on whe it cost them an Aegis destroyer. *sighs* they cared about the $$$ lost, not the personel on board.

    GoalKeeper FTW!

    Course... the Aegis surface-to-surface airborne missile intercept system is the BEST. Smaller missiles create shrapnel to SHREAD other missiles <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
