Need Help With Server

I am in a net caffe now - just downloaded NS 3.0 and we cannot set up a server - it shows some kind of error but it disappears too fast and i can't read it ( 0.1 of the sec.)What to do to run NS ?? I have only 3 hours to make it work and play with the guys here so pls give me some help.
