But since I know the county clerk or whatever the title is of the guy who handles all the tickets, all I have to do is go to traffic school and I get out with no points lost. Hurray for small towns and knowing everyone.

You have a better chance of dying in a car accident than from any disease. The faster you go, the higher the chance the wreck would be fatal, either to you or to the other vehicle you hit. Of course, driving down a residential street, even if you're not speeding, adds the chance of hitting pedestrians, which increases the chance of a fatality.
