Whatever Happened To The Good Ol' Days?

Been cleaning out my room
So I've been cleaning out my room all this week and, for the most part, it's been a fairly depressing task (man i hate old me).

Anyway, I found one glimmer of goodness among the trash, and it's a postcard that i got from Capcom from 1996 or so. I was a bit Megaman fan back then (I know, pretty late in the game) and didn't have any consoles so I had to settle with the PC versions. I wrote asking if any Megaman games were coming to the PC and got this responce:

"Thanks for writing. MegaManX is the only MegaMan title we make for the PC. There are no immediate plans to bring any other MegaMan titles to the PC format. MegaMan8 will be released for PSX/Saturn in Feb'97. No word on MegaManX4 yet. Until next time, Keep Gaming!"

Now, as many of you know, they went no to release MegamanX3,4,5 and 6 for the PC and I've bought pretty much every one. I always like to think that my letter might have swayed the tide a little bit and got the programming team to port some of the games to the PC.

What ever happened to these days? Writting letters, getting HAND WRITTEN replies. No form letters, to form emails, PERSONAL RESPONCE. I love it.

I know, a dorky moment, but it's cool to look back on.

Dude, you think finding an old game is bad? I turn 18 tomorrow. Statistically speaking, 1/4 of my life is over tomorrow.

Heh, first off, I had a megaman game for the pc. It was so old that it was the kind where you had to select your computer type (I forget what all the options were, but "Tandy" sticks out in my mind) and it only had 3 Bosses... one was a Sparky/Electric guy, another was a frog or fish or some watery creature, and the last was something else (dunno). Oh, and it was official megaman I'm pretty sure, don't recall if it was actually made by capcom though. I played it off a floppy 3.5 floppy disk, but I seem to recall that that was after I copied it from its original 5.25 floppy.

As far as the age thing is concerned, I don't doubt that there are many others on the forum that can best me, but I'll be 23 in less than 2 months. yay...

Just think, when you turned 15, you were halfway to 30 and a midlife crisis.

Oh really? I better start working on that mid-mid life crisis then.

Actually, I remember that. In 5th grade, my friend had to write a letter to someone big. Ocarina of Time was announced, still titled "Zelda Gaiden," and he got a hand-written letter back with some Zelda stickers where they talked about it.
