Ns Not Showing On Play Games List

<div class="IPBDescription">NS does not find my Steam folder</div> Hi All,

We've read your installation instructions (very nicely done) and I have done all I know to do.

When installing NS it says "Unable to find Steam or Half Life (WON) do you still want to install" I pick yes and direct it to my steam account and name the new folder NS... the ns folder is in with the other game folders... I reboot and the game does not show in the list of Play Games.

Could you please help me with any suggestion?

Do you have Half-Life 1?

We have half life 2 with counterstrike and it also included half life 1.... it was the $80 "Gift Set to give to the one you love most" :-)

In Steam it's listed as "Half Life" I believe... (I'm at work right now...shhhh)

and yes we have an account with Steam.... My Steam files are in c:\prgram files\valve\steam\steamapps\terrykwms\ Could that be messin it up? Having it in Valve?

what would happen if I drug my ns folder to my steamapps\terrykwms\hl folder?

does the NS folder have to be with certain files to be recognized by Steam?

The NS Folder should be in the Half Life folder

Here is your corrected half-life directory.
Delete the previous install of NS and try installing into this directory, restarting, and then trying to run it.

Didn't work.


Here's another thing it does...say I browse to

c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\terrykwms\half life source\hl1\

it adds "New Folder" to the end. So after the install it looks like this:

c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\terrykwms\half life source\hl1\new folder\ns

and the only thing in new folder are 2 uninstall type files then it has the ns folder in it.

So we drug the ns folder into the:
c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\terrykwms\half life source\hl1\

folder and rebooted....nothin'......


I also installed it at:
c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\terrykwms\half life source\

nothin'....

you have to have original Half-Life, i think the HL your package came with is Half-Life: Source

Yes. I am seeing a lot about being able to run NS through CS:CZ, however, so don't lose hope and maybe someone will enlighten you (and me, too.)

Well that's a bummer it doesn't run on Source.

I'll have to see how cheap I can get HL1 then I guess.....or is there going to be a NS Source in the future??

I'm also using half-life: source and I'm trying to find a way to make it work, if I find one I'll post it on here for sure.

Just buy half-life one, its just like $10?
