Hmmmm....there should be an addon for NS where skulks get replaced by cute cats. I'd like to see a marine blow up a cute cat. The cat would just scratch the CC while all the marines stroke the cat.

My dog sleeps on my feet and keeps my toes warm. She also puts her face in my lap and makes me feel guilty for not walking her in the past five minutes. Cats just give menacing glares and attack me when I try to pet them.
Can you get bartonella from a doggie? No. Cats have given it to me, and I still have it.
Will a cat play catch with snowballs? No. It'll just hiss at you when it realizes that snow = water.
Will a cat watch CNN with me and bark at the pundits (yes, she really does hate the pundits more than the other people on the screen - it's pretty funny)? No.
And if I need a dog to sleep in my lap, I have my backup doggie - an extremely lazy Shi Tzu named Scooter. He's more than willing to lounge on me while I frag people.
I have 2 cats and they are both awesome, one is a red-tabby mixed with god knows what, maybe lynx; he has those odd tuffs of fur that they have. We've had him for almost 7 years now. They other is a Siamese kitten.
Last September both of them got outside, this wasn't the first time for our tabby, in fact he was a stray as a kitten and we took him in. However the kitten was only 3-4 months old and newly acquired from the pet store.
It was about 8 in the evening when we noticed and believe me tore up every inch of my yard and the surrounding vicinity. We went in at 2 and vowed to resume the search in the morning.
I woke up the next morning around 9 and ran outside to get the paper, and of course look for the cats. As I walk by the bushes near my mailbox I see a distinctly out of place red blob.
The sight I saw was one of the most relieving and cutest things I had ever seen. The tabby was curled up in a ball sleeping very contently and the little kitten was in the center looking up at me with this stupid side-ways glance like everything was perfectly normal.
Two days later my neighbor’s dog, a black lab, got out and ran right into a passing car. His nose was cut up and one of his paws was broken, but other then that he was fine.

Let them run freeeeeeeeee!
Our cat did get owned by a fox one time (or something with really sharp pointy teeh)... but that's the price you pay for having a happy kitty. It's also a good process of natural selection; if a pet throws themselves under a car the moment you let them out, they're too stupid to deserve to be your pet.
Dogs are a different matter entirely... they SHOULD be kept inside/in your garden at all times because they like to try and be friends with cars.
