do a fresh re-install? update drivers? have you update your direct X?

If you are still having trouble try the EA Games forums, in the battlefield 2 section.

what graphics card do you have. If you have a GForce 4 you are out of luck. If you have an older card, you are outa luck.

I have a 9800 pro and it happened the same thing, this is what I did:

Completly removed ati drivers, opened Driver Cleaner ran it to remove any remaining files, restart, DLed and installed latest ATI drivers, wham problem gone.

Otherwise there was something you could do in X:\Program\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 Demo\Profiles\Local\Default\video.con I think it was changing

    game.setGameDisplayMode 800 600 35 0

    to

    game.setGameDisplayMode 1024 768 35 0

and also there was something called similiar with "AllowAllRefreshRates 0" that you should change to 1.

As said check if they support your card.

Happens to me occasionally, when I set the graphics to the max (usually on 1st load). Works after that...

If you're getting this problem, try just not using the included NVidia drivers.

I forget the exact number of the drivers, but are they pre-release or betas? Their version is higher than that on the nVidia website...

Yeah. Super-early-holy-crap. Their on 77, while NVidia's official is on 71. Many PCs(like my own) had severe problems with them: Texture mismatches, , picture degredation, shaders stop working correctly- just really, REALLY bad, in general.

I had the same problem. The only way I got it to run was to run it in windowed mode. (Edit the shortcut and set +fullscreen to 0)

I think I'm noticing it in Half-Life 2, specifically with the lighting shaders. I'll check into it tommorow though...
