<div class="IPBDescription">software mode thing</div> everytime i run ns and join a game, i get this "natural selection does not support software mode" what the heck is software mode?

    Check your video settings, at least in HL1, there is a software rendering mode. Since NS is relitively intensive for a HL game, it does not work that way <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Open options and video, change the video settings to Direct 3D or Open GL. If you can't change it in NS, change it in HL and try NS again.

    If all that dosen't work, make sure your graphics card has all proper drivers installed and the "hardware acceleration" slider is to the max.

    Natural Selection cannot support software rendering mode, which means you must enable hardware rendering unders the video tab in options (Open GL is your best bet)

    You might even experience a performance boost, because software mode is usually capped at 30 frames per second.
