Barring essays specifically on Tentacle porn, you could do a Sociological essay. That could be fun, because those alwyas tie in with current events.

Do they have to be informative? Or just about anything at all?

My tips: Don't pick something common, pick something that will be controversial (Unless you're instructor can't be objective and will give you a D if they don't like the topic) and pick something that's off the wall. Just try and pick something that they've never read before.

And second, don't be too general, be specific with your title. Topics on broad subjects tend to be poor.

Essays on what sorts of topics? Essays range on about anything to anything. What class is this for?

I always wondered about that. Why always 'big brother'? Does anyone here doubt that, to achieve some truly drastic tyranny, one would have to look at the little sister?

Nemmy, you of all people should know that when it comes to government they must always personify it as a male, since women know nothing about said government. (At least when the term was coined they didn't really care and those that did were never allowed to speak much.)

This would actually be a very good topic. I'm sure it would be interesting, different, and even a learning experience for yourself. Go for it ! Good suggestion Nem0.

Holy crap. Something could be said about coming straight from the horse's mouth but I don't think Cyndane is a horse. I do however think that she's within driving distance of coming out here and kicking my **** though. So I'll leave well enough alone.

    Illegal Immigration: Eroding America's Infrastructure

It’s a hot topic with an edge, which strangely enough is hardly ever talked about in the news.

Because 1984 wanted to use a man (with a mustache!), to get the Castro/Stalin/Hitler/Franco vibe in there.

But yes, there's no comparison between an evil brother and sister. A big brother may beat the crap outta you, but a big sister has mom.

If they could do it, and it wouldn't suck, and I wouldn't have privacy problems or bombarded by things I do not want, then, I am all for it.
