Was listening to the radio in the car one evening last week, and a song started playing that I had never heard that featured a riff that had the signature sound of Sevendust's Clint Lowery's guitar. I got all excited, expecting to hear a new Sevendust song, but was soon surprised to hear something totally different. It was Dark New Day's first single, Brother.
Awesome band, their first album came out today. It's basically an amalgamation of ex members of bands like Sevendust, Creed, Stereomud, Skrape, Doubledrive, and more... It makes for a very refreshing sound and style.
There are moments on the album that I'm fooled into thinking that I'm listening to Sevendust until the vocals kick in, and other songs are completely new sounding and different. The whole album definitely brings something new to the table though, there isn't a song on it that I don't like.
Defintely check it out if this is your thing.
