Yoshi's Island on the Mind.
Yeah, so I've been playing a lot of Yoshi's Island the past month, twice I've 100% from start to end. I was toying with my pen and thought Baby Bowser would be pretty nifty to sketch, so I did. Since sketching is incredibly easy and fun.

nice, but his left leg looks very awkwardly placed

The only thing worse than lazy shading and broken legs and lazy fire/smoke/whatever is drawing something on lined paper. Paper with squares is even worse ¬_¬.

The legs are thinner than what they look like and pushed back a bit, so the position[Which is the same] might look odd. That's what you get when drawing from memory.

Using pen when shading isn't the best of opinions, but I never us Pencils.

Can you do better fire and smoke? If so could you show me some, I'd like to learn.

    I don't mind lined/graph paper, how's it bad?

    I REPLY.

I would've thought the disadvantages to using squared paper was obvious, ie: the big-**** blue lines going through your drawing?
You should've sketched out some sort of skeleton first, so as to not wind up with broken legs. Not liking pencils is fine, but I'd say you definately need to sketch out the seleton first lightly in pencil, that way you can rub it out once you've finished the actual drawing.
To be fair, smoke and fire actually are pretty hard, but this how I do it. You wanna add some motion to the smoke itself, it rarely flows straight upwards, it curls and stuff.

    Jesus, it's just a sketch

But yeah, it'd be wiser to rid of the blue lines if you work on lined paper. It isn't bad to use line paper, I do all the time, just make sure to rid of the lines as best to your ability. Makes for less distraction.

Cute doodle, putting the misplaced arm aside.

I focus the lines out when looking at it, I don't mind much.

I never draw a skeleton, and I never will.

I was going for the Lit-Cigarette approach, it goes straight up.
