"connection To Server Timed Out"

Am I the only one havin gthis issue with NS? When i try to connect to servers 99% of the time it gets to "precaching resources" and then I get "connection to server timed out".

What can i do to get around this?

I've tried typing in console fs_lazy_precache 1 (and 2) .. .it might work once or twice but then its back to not working again .. WTH!!! Turn off any file sharing programs that are running in the background, and then try it again, this is a common problem with people caning their connections by downloading inane, virus infected, crap via P2P...
