keyboard/mouse or game controllers?
personally, I think there's very few games that can be controlled better with a gamepad or joystick than with a keyboard/mouse. for instance I refuse to play any console FPS til it comes out on the computer... playing RTS games with a controller is also a horror... the only things that come to mind joysticks and controllers are good for are flight sims and platformers, and even that's negotiable.
I'm just wondering why console companies are still shipping consoles with controllers instead of mice and keyboards (or maybe some kinda mini-keyboard)... is it because a controller is just so much cheaper to manufacture? or are kids to dumb to know how to use a mouse?

Other than that, yeah, Keyboard/Mouse rules.
Overhead Camera - Seen in RTS games, Simulations, and Adventure (Mouse).
Third Person Camera - Mostly seen in Adventure/RPG (Controller).
First Person Human Camera - Mainly first person shooters (Mouse).
First Person Vehicle Camera - Simulations and some first person shooters (Controller).
I wouldn't want to play GGX2 without my dual shock controller, for example, while the thought of a first-person shooter controlled by a gamepad is abhorrent to me.
So basically, keyboard/mouse only works with computer games (which are games that normally rely on the accuracy of the mouse, and not the buttons of the keyboard). =X
This is why it doesn't work with fighters, because they don't rely on mouse accuracy, all your left with is fumbling with the keyboard keys.
The only company I know of that was actually smart enough to sell a keyboard/mouse combo for the FPS games on their console was Sega, though I think Sony did a half-assed keyboard for Everquest on PS2 (has a D-Pad on the left of the keyboard, normal controller buttons on the right, IIRC).
And I'm not saying none of those above game types aren't viable PC games, you'd just need to buy a gamepad (and I have like, 4... A shame no games really get much out of them nowadays, and those that do are available on consoles).
In other, off-topic news, did anyone get Trizeal, and if you did, would you recommend it?

Note on 3rd person:
gta3 and above or Max Payne kind of games work just as well if not better with mouse+keyboard combo.
Note 2:
Battlefield planes fly way better with a joystick to

So basically what you're saying is that games that are designed to be played with a keyboard/mouse work better with a keyboard/mouse than a gamepad.

Yeah.
But they generally suck.
Actually I think it could work quite well, if you made "change camera view" the second mouse button. Yes, I know this is a straight rip of how GW(and certainly many others) does it, but that shouldn't influence the usefulness of the control scheme.
I could definitely have fun playing Mario 64 with kb and mouse.
Halo with controller/gamepad ftw! (ugh)
