I'll be working the night shift for $5.75 an hour <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'll work untill 2am on weekends. So yea, part time, crappy pay, horrid hours, this will be fun...

But at lease I get to see free movies <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Also, I have no car, so I'll be taking the bus there, and walking home, at 2 in the morning, it's about a 45-60 minute walk, hooray!

Hopefully I can find somthing better, but for now, I need this job really badly, so yea...

    Get started I will not.

    Worst job, have I had.

    USA Relay, that was.

    Evil it is.

    I'd like to also take a break from yoda for a minute for a more coherent post.

    I think everyone who ever works in their life should have at least six months of retail sales/customer service, then the next time you start to complain about something you will know how it feels, when customers are quite clearly wrong and refuse to admit it.

    I had to listen to people complain about why a keychain cost $6 though, or why a disposable camera was $20. Amusement parks FTW!

    Hey I picked up a job at the local cinemas 2 months ago. I quite enjoy it. Sure, the public are complete morons, not to mention slobs, but it's better than serving food.

    No doubt, my main thing is the transportation, or lack there of, and the hours. They pay I can deal with though.

    My job is the worst one ever. I posted about it a bit ago. No one can top it.

    Food service is bad, and I've done my share of it. USD Relay is the devil reincarnate. RS is the best so far for serving other people.

    I worked at an after school programs with middle school kids. This was interesting cause they were Spanish speaking, and I know basically no Spanish. Other than that, it was a great experience.

    Everyone should have to deal with the crappy food service job, be it pizza, waiting tables, or fast food. It can be a humbling experience.

    A 45min walk from the bus stop at 2 Am? I'd get a gun or some pepper spray, never know who's lurking around at 2 AM.

    As far as crappy work I haven't really done any. I'm starting on friday a job at office depot in the PC department, I think I'm going to learn quickly what you mean about customer ignorance and their subbornness. My only other job was in High School where I worked in the local hospital's medical records department. That was great because my boss was so lenient she let me take the day off whenever I wanted. But I've matured since then (I think) so having a steady job will be good.

    Once or twice? This is close to everyday. Then again it does depend on the area he's walking through, but I'd still get something just in case. Maybe a stungun, hey if you don't end up using it in self defense you can still have a cool toy for later.

    Restaurants are fun places to work, that is if you're not lazy. There's almost ALWAYS something to do so it's really hard to get bored. If you're legal age to serve alcohol (18 here) you can make fantastic tips as a server at a good restaurant. Definatly not a bad part time job.

    Near me, and mostly for girls, it wouldn't be considered safe to ride the bus/walk home alone that early in the morning.

    I just got back from college orientation, there were way too many saftey skits/lectures/and chats to make me feel uncomfortable.... <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo--> but none of them ever got mugged, so i think its okay <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Caboosey, how did you get a job in the cinema? I would <b>love</b> to work in my local cinema regardless of the hours. (I like walking. Walking + iPod Mini = dancing time.)

    Was the vacancy advertised or did you just walk in and be all like "hey, job, now!"

    My first job was in a food place, but it was take-n-bake pizza, so no tips. I enjoyed the work though, so it was fine. Currently I'm working in an Albertsons bakery. Four days of working night shifts with other people, then I get left on my own. I was amazed that I actually knew what I was supposed to be doing so quickly, but it gets really frustrating whenever a shopper comes up and asks a question about anything even slightly out of the ordinary. Not only am I not able to help them, but I can't even learn how to deal with it the next time. Frustrating, but not too bad.

    Never said 45 wasn't higher then 5.75...

    However, if you are questioning exchangerate.com... you have issues.

    That would be like questiong nasdaq.com or nyse.com saying their stock quotes are wrong, when they are the source of them.

    In addition, just in case they were off, which they aren't, i did check a couple other sites, all of which confirm the 6.14 exchange rate as of today. It will change in a few days I'm sure, but that is always fluctuating.
