TRANSMETROPOLITAN.

Vulgar, violent, but very good, very funny, and is generally a really good series of comics.

Well, Extraordinary League of Gentlemen, then Watchmen, then V for Vendetta should keep you going. Just make sure you read 'em in that order; if you read V first, you won't find the other two as brilliant.

Oh, and The Ballad Of Halo Jones.

The Dark Knight Returns. I love you, Frank Millar. Almost as much as Alan Moore. Almost.

Of course, these aren't really the same genre as Sandman...but you should try them anyway.

Is Maus 2 "In The Shadow Of The Two Towers" (or something like that)? If so, yeah, it's great. If not, then I screwed up, and need to find Maus 2. ;P

Well, there's only two Maus' I believe. So it's kinda hard to screw up.

Maus 1 is "My father bleeds history" and Maus 2 is "And here my troubles began".

    I still managed it.

The one I mentioned is good, though.

Wow that's insane I remember my freshman english teacher gave us the option of reading Maus 1 & 2 or one of a few other books.

Sandman is horrifyingly overrated. Get out before you become just another Gaiman fan. You will earn more cool points by reading things like Alan Moore's V for Vendetta.

Or Sue Grafton's famous crime drama, A Is for Alibi
