<div class="IPBDescription">Well...it was to me</div>I made this funky little sequence of lights and triggers...

just go for a run down the corridor...you'll see what I mean...

what you think?

    It was interesting, indeed.  One problem, though, was that the lights would turn off in the wrong order.  Also, they didn't seem to turn on as a result of the player's presence, but rather in a sequence that progresses faster than the player can move.  I think if you changed those two things, this would be an awesome lighting trick to stick into a corridor or two.

    Nice effect, Hanz. I agree that it would be better if the lights turned on once you actually walk up to them rather than have it simulated. It reminds me of something... oh, that's it... the Half-Life intro. Nice work.

    I might be doing something similar to this in my map... only the lights would flicker a bit before turning on... don't know how well that would work out for online play though...

    Hehe I broke it. I made it so the last light was on when it should be off and off when it should be on! I've got da skillz

    Very nice little effect, been features in countless sci-fi movies and novels, and now it's brought to our very own NS!

    Nice work.

    I'll start improving on it tomorrow <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> Can you say "trigger_prescence"? <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> The lights will be on while you are standing there, but they will turn off a few seconds after you leave. Cool huh?

    It crashed my computer the first time I ran it. Let me try again.

    [edit]Crashed it the second time as well. Tried a third time, and managed to break the sequence in about fifteen seconds. You need trigger presences to toggle the lights.[/edit]

    it was just an idea...I mean, come on! do you think that that piece of small mapping was delicately done...I had the idea...banged it together...seemed to work ok...then I posted it...come on...hrrrrmmmmm  <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->

    Lol! <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

    Most of our comments were simply referring to what would need to be done if someone were to use this in a real map... I think. Again, nice idea. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
