    American football is not football. You generally don't touch the ball with your FOOT, you carry it. That's like calling football (the proper football the rest of the world plays) hand-ball because you sometimes get to pick the ball up if you're taking a throw-in or if you're the goalie.

    But he's right when he says that football is wuss-rugby. Have you ever seen a game of rugby? Those guys could scrum for minutes and it looks insane. Not to mention that when you've actually broken the scrum, all hell breaks loose and if you get tackled, be prepare to book that bed at your local hospital.

    They don't wear any armor or protection either, that's hardcore.

    I'm all for turning the NFL into a rugby league. That would be awesome!

    The European NFL plays, basically, when the NFL doesn't. A lot of NFL players actually play in the European league, so as to stay in shape during the off-season. That said, the NFL is far and away dominant over either the CFL (Canadian Football league) or the NFL Europe, simply because so much money and effort is sunk into it here whereas it's more of a pastime everywhere else.

    These players are stone-cold <i>mercenaries</i>. Right now, I can guarantee that no team could compete with an allstar American team. Hopefully football takes off and that changes, someday.




    PS: There's a good reason why rugby players last three years until their bodies are shot for the rest of their lives. Football players are much bigger than rugby players. I can say with a fair deal of certainty that there are no rugby players who are 300 punds of solid muscle.

    Plus, football is more fun to watch.
