<div class="IPBDescription">need help with what the problem is...</div> Hi this is for you web designers/developers.
I am helping develop a website which has now been complete except that from time to time I have to jump in again to reupdate it for them.
Now last month everything was working fine. Suddently this month I can't edit the files at all. Basically this is what is happening on the FTP.
I can
Download/View a current file
Add a new file
Manipulate that new file as much as I want to. (rename, delete etc)
I cannot
Edit current file
Manipulate any CURRENT file anyhow I want to (rename, delete etc)
The server is a Windows NT4 server and I do not have direct remote access to it. The problem really boggles me and I am trying to come up with what is going on exactly so that I can pass it on to the website owners where they will then contact the webspace provider.
I have been trying to confirm as well if its just my connection or my ftp prorgam. Is there a way to see what is the current permission on a file on an ftp site?
Any ideas? Thanks

To check permissions use the CHMod command. The CHMod interface depends on the FTP client, so look around.
I thought that CHMod was only for Linux/UNIX based servers... What FTP client are you using?
